With an X-Box 360 and a HD TV the art should come through pretty clear. Now if I only had the money to get both....

Perhaps that's some sort of a Collector's Edition? It appears as though the titles of the cards are printed in English...

Cool picks... but those cards don't look like actual Culdcept cards do they? Is there an actual card game version of Culdcept in Japan? Also, interesting to note that some of the art hasn't changed. Even some of the animations look like they're intact.

Actually, those are cards from the new set. Currently there is no CCG for Culdcept in Japan, yet. It's quite a cult game, even over there. Though cult games in Japan are a lot more popular than cult games here. Wouldn't it be great to have a CCG/board game though? I know someone on the boards was actually making or had a custom home copy of a board and cards.

Actually Kuroi, I think a card game version would be attrocious. I love plain ol' CCGs, but the accounting in Culdcept would make it a nightmare. That's why I was in awe when I thought the crazy Japanese had tried it.

If they DID make a boardgame/ccg I don't think they would make it as "account" intensive as the game. ;D
Back on the subject it looks like 11/22/06 is going to be the release for Japan. No word on am exact US release date. Is anyone going to be importing this aside from Topcat and me? Are there any others from outside the states or Europe who are getting the NTSC-J version when it hits? We'll have to swap names and get some games going.
Edit: Send me a PM if you get a chance.

Over on the gamefaqs board there is a guy who made a boardgame out of Culdcept. It works really great. I won't say I know more about it than he tells folks on line...well I do...and one has to modify the rules somewhat but it's a LOT of fun.

Sounds like a good way to get people together and enjoy Culdcept up close and personal.
Also, seems like Saga comes with a full 54 deck of Culcept cards, which is coincidentally the number of cards in a normal deck, so it makes me wonder if it's really geared towards a new live CCG or maybe just a normal deck.
Also seems as though you can't order the game through Amazon.co.jp as they have a policy about not selling DVDs, CDs, or VHS tapes out of the country. Boo!

New screens from Culdcept Saga have been published on IGN's website, apparently coming out of the Tokyo Game Show. Check the following for more information: - media.xbox360.ign.com/media/821/821704/imgs_1.htmlIn addition, according to the article linked below, Culdcept Saga was one of the titles "officially listed for display at TGS 2006." I guess that's a good sign for those of us who are hoping that this title gets released sooner rather than later: - games.ign.com/articles/732/732687p1.html

These are the first high resolution screen shots of this game that I have seen. The graphics look really nice and are very colorful. This should put to rest any worries of the new more detailed artwork not showing up clearly.

I read that MS plans to have extensive Live coverage of all things 360 at TGS. It is therefore very possible that we might have several TGS vids of Saga in action on the Marketplace. Who knows, there might even be a demo available if there is a demo at TGS.

Good point, TopCat. For anyone who is interested in keeping track of the daily TGS content available via Xbox Live, they are apparently publishing a list of the day's content here: www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/bringithome/default.htm
