We'll know for sure come E3 in a few weeks, I hope. I find it hard to believe that a game like Culdcept Saga could be delayed so much, but I suppose they have their reasons. They are really running the risk of alienating their North American audience, however. The NA version better be drastically improved from the Japanese version if they hope to justify this.

I think they released the Japanese version too soon and are trying to not make the same mistake with the NA version. If they need help localizing some of the cards they should check out the site with TopCat's translations of the cards. I just hope it makes it here by X-MAS, Namco Bandai's web site still says Winter 2007. www.namcobandaigames.com/games/culdceptsaga/

You all have my sympathy, but Lizardman has his mind in the right place. The game was very buggy when the Japanese version was released. It's one of the worst releases on a console, as far as bugs, that I have seen. They, hopefully, are taking every precaution with the NA release. Will they have enough in it to justify the delay? If they add all of the DL content that the JP version has, then I would say yes. The translation should be easy enough, but maybe they're having problems fitting the english text into the same format/sizing? I doubt they have a large team either way.

Well, it's good to know that the message boards are up and running again, as they had been down for several months. However. the February release date cited in the thread looks to me to be speculation made by a message board member, so I wouldn't necessarily call that "official."

It 'feels' about right, though. February is often a dead month for gaming because the industry is still reeling from the rush of the holiday season. Having Culdcept come out in February could be strategic move to garner it some attention. The same was done this year by Capcom with Lost Planet and it worked rather well.

It is just speculation. Though, no matter how you look at it, February still falls under the "winter 08" blanket. I just hope it comes out soon. It gets so hard trying to find a match in the evening stateside.
Has anyone seen new pictures of the translations? I saw a preview in my new issue of "Play" and was a bit baffled when words were cut in two and continued on the next line (not even with a hyphen). It seemed very unnecessary. Is this a hint of another poor translation?

It seemed very unnecessary. Is this a hint of another poor translation? This happens a lot with "work in progress" translations, I'd definitely expect it to change for the better. Someone probably wasn't looking closely while choosing screenshots to provide the magazine.

i'd be more happy about it if it wasn't close to a 10 year anniversary of the first culdcept sage US release date

So..
- We'll get a demo in December. - People using the US version can only play against others using the US version. - And.. I'm not sure I understand the DLC comment.
