Yes it appears to be very like the ps2 version, tho recent hig-res shots suggest to me they really have cleaned up the look a bit, more than I originally gave them credit for.
But yes it's basically the same game and cards with some new paint (boards, cards, characters). Other threads mention some nuances too (new territory squares/treatments)
Regarding the 360 - I'm a picky systems guy, and I've been pretty pleased. The 360 controller >> previous xbox, dreamcast, gamecube, and possibly even ps2 controllers. Perhaps the Saturn Nights Pad still hits me as the best all time heh. But the HD picture and game delivery has been great. And for you old schoolers, well I have castlevania:SOTN for $10 on my HD TV.

Since this is a 'taken the plunge on a 360 for magic meets monoply' check out 'mule meets monopoly' [ok maybe its a bit of a stretch but some of you might get the connection :] Check out the settlers of Catan [boardgame] trial through xbox live arcade, at 800 pts I might get it for a fun cerebral videogame/boardgame while I wait for my culdcept sage

I'm very likely too, just got some MS points, but also seeing if they resolve some of the online and achievement bumps. Might even still get it if they dont but I thought I'd see if that'd stabilize a bit first.

I have officially bought an Xbox360 now for this game. I am currently pimping this game on gaming-age in an attempt to stir up a larger crowd in favor of this title. And so far from all the support it may be working. Folks are really concerned about whether itll be region free though. I got an italian friend who wants this but may not be able to get it.

Welcome to the world of the 360, mate. I took the plunge back in November, when this title was originally due in Spring. Much to my surprise, I have found several titles that I enjoy on the console. I never gave it a chance because I hated the original Xbox, but now I'm confident that this is the console to own. The online component is just so robust, I can't wait to play you guys in this game.

I second that. It is really becoming a hassle to play games at a reasonable hour with anyone outside Japan. Guess it's late nights until October hits. I'm glad everyone is finding more to the X360 than meets the eye.
