I tried to get this medal last night, but was unsuccessful. I played an allied versus match, with Leo on my team against Zagol and Goligan in the Malthessbury map. I also set the goal to 10,000G. My deck is composed of only magic cards to support Leo. When we (I) won, i did not get the medal. Can someone point out what i did wrong. Thanks.

Hmm. When I got the medal, it was me and Balberit vs. Mullyn. Maybe you can only get it versus a single opponent.. give that a shot. Let me know if it works or not.

How do you set up an odd numbered alliance? When i tried to set up a 2 against 1 or 1 against 2 battle, it simply won't let me. The alliance option wouldn't even become available unless you have 4 players.

You mean "random alliance" option?
On the rotating menu (with battle, participate, loaded characters, etc), press square or triangle on a character to place them on the "square" or "triangle" team.

Okay i got the medal on my 3rd attempt. I think my previous 2 trys failed because i reached the castle 1st after our mana reached the goal. The 3 time my ally reach it 1st.

I'm not sure whether your ally has to reach the castle before you after reaching the goal, but what I do know is that either your ally CANNOT be tolled by an enemy, OR your ally is the only one collecting tolls throughout the match, can't remember which sorry...

In all 3 matches, only my ally is collecting tolls since i only have magic cards in my deck, thats what led me to the assumption of my ally having to reach castle 1st after goal is reached because i did not earn the medal on the 2 occasions i reached there 1st.

That seems a little odd, really. Do you happen to remember if on the two occasions you didn't get the medal, your ally's land was successfully invaded? This could be another meaning of "denied toll," and it's possible we don't really know exactly how to get this medal.
I know when I got the medal, there were no successful invasions. I might run a test on this if I can pull myself away from Disgaea :P

Sorry ExMortis, but i can't remember. But what you said about my ally being successfully invaded and therefore denied toll makes sense. So do you remember when you got the medal who reached the castle 1st? If you did, then that would disprove my assumption.

(kidding .. check the "modify" button on your posts, I didn't think the forum had an Edit function at first either)
I have no recollection of who hit the castle first. I will run a test at some point in the near future though, in order to better ascertain what this medal's all about.

Based on what we already know, the way to win this medal is to prevent your ally's territory from being successfully invaded when the enemy lands on it. This explains the "Not once was the ally denied toll." in its conditions to aquire. The rest is "Victory in using the Malthessbury map in an alliance battle". The best way is to play a deck of only magic cards concentrated on supporting your ally.
