I figured that while I'm playing through, trying to accumulate cards and experience in vs. mode and replaying story battles I've completed, that I might as well try to do this with one of my books. I figure there aren't enough to make the book totally with female creatures (though I could be wrong, but I've only seen a few like Succubus, Elf, Dark Elf, Amazon, Nike, Lillith, Witch) and only have Elf, Dryad, and Amazon in my possession I thought maybe beating Luthien in story mode would give me some, but when I visited her again and won, I didn't get any females even though she uses a lot of them in her book. Got a ton of spell cards (half of which I don't even know how to use right or seen used in the game to this point!) Beat Selena, but got some wierd mix of cards (figures because she plays wierd - either she dominates or she stinks) In any rate, what good female cards should I be keeping my eye out for? Would there be enough to make use of all the land types on the maps? What strategy would be good to employ with such a book? Is there any way to increase the chances of getting females as reward cards for winning (or losing as I'm doing my share of)?

Off the top of my head: There are a couple of red ones names Shaharazad and Peri. I believe the green Healer is female. There is a gray creature - a half angel/half demon named something like Migoal if memory serves. I believe this is female also.
I realize that traditionally Amazons are females, I see absolutely nothing female about the amazon in Culdcept. My roommate and I discussed this during a game a while back....
As far as what to do to get certain cards, there are some theories regarding who you win certain colors from. I chalk it all up to luck of the draw though.

Yeah, I would have to agree with Butch - although the term "amazon" connotates a female warrior - I think the designers of this game fudged it and put an illustration of a man on the card. Look also at the little character that pops up when you placed the "amazon". Its definitely a dude.
Other female characters... the Cleric(N), Valkyria(R), Ivory Idol(N), Astral Queen(N), Medusa(B), Dryad(G), Gooba Queen(G), and Grimalkin(G).
Others that might also be female (but that I am not 100% sure), Domovikha(R), Sanctum Guard(N), and Pegasus(Y).

Thanks for the tips on the cards.
Yeah, the Amazon is definitly male looking on the card! The little character looks like it could go either way), but when the card dies, it screams like a girl! Go figure!
Looks like I'll just have to keep battling and hoping for the best. Would it be best to play a small map (like Dunnan or Tournament 1) with a low magic goal/rounds limit for faster games (win or lose) or play a large map like Temple of the Medium to get a higher reward at the end if I win?

Hahahah I actually built an all female deck for shits and giggles- Imagine my surprise when it actually kicked massive ass- I used a few cards from all colors with some spells and items- Liliths, Fates, Nikes, Witches, Succubi, Dryads, Healers, Dark Elves, Sharazades, Valkyrias, Astral Queen, Clerics- it was amazing at how awesome it worked.

I stand corrected. When I made my last post I was not looking at Migoal and I see that it is, in fact, a "dude." I can assure you however that I am not on " " I simply didn't have the game loaded up so I could verify the gender of Migoal. Now. Today is Sunday, so I am going to go hit myself with a claw hammer.

My females book so far: Trying my best to pick only spell cards that have females depicted on them. I'll just have to fudge on the items unless there's female items..actually there is one I just remembered! CreaturesNeutral: Cleric x1 Migoal x1 (definitely a female judging by the picture!) Fire: Sharazad x1 Valkyria x1 Water: Amazon x1 (I know, very boy-ish, but if it screams like a girl when it dies, then it's a girl ) Fate x1 Lilith x1 Medusa x1 Nymph x1 Earth: Dark Elf x1 Dryad x1 Gooba Queen x1 Mandrake x1 (well, I never killed one/had mine killed, but it looks like a girl) Wind: (Is it just me or are the does wind have the most easily gained females?) Elf x1 Harpy x1 Sphinx x2 Sprite x2 Succubus x2 Spells: Blackout x1 Dispel Magic x1 Grace x1 Mana x2 Wind of Hope x1 Temperence x1 Camoflague x1 Spirit Walk x1 Magic Fountain x1 Undine x1 (I think this is the first game I've seen where Undines were not female) Items: Water Amulet x1 Non-Females left: (non-item, mostly spells) Fly x1 Telegnosis x1 Magic Bolt x2 Holy Word 0 x1 Prismatic Wand x1 Chain Mail x2 Counter Amulet x1 Tower Shield x1 Ring of Succubus x1 Morning Star x2 Breakdown: 47% Creatures, 24% Items, 28% Spells What I would like: Where's that Astral Queen at? More Fire cards! 2 fire cards? That's not good Ditto the Neutrals... More copies of cards I already have so I don't have so few creatures. I'd probably run out in a long game. Females I know I don't have: Witch, Ivory Idol (I've seen every type but this one), Sanctum Guard (never seen it), Grimalkin (ok, I see this one a lot for the AI, but I never win it..). I have the Domovikha. Might put that one in just to see if it's female when it dies. Overall, not bad - at least I'm up to a playable book to tryout (finally) and quite a few are female, especially if you leave the items out of the equation.

KL- I believe Astral Queen is only avalable through a cheat device...she isn't to impressive (in either art or stats) however so your not missing much. I love the Sanctum guard I just wish I could use more then one of it.

BLASPHEMY!
LOL
1- You can get the Astral Queen by winning enough medals, (either 25 or 30 or 35...one of them- I'm sure someone will post a correction).
2- The Astral Queen gets an HP bonus for every Neutral card in play.
3- She can cast "camouflage" on all creatures in play- you can then choose to branch 6-7 strategies from that.
4- She's freaking hot! LOL- no, the art on the card is a definite bonus. She's probably the most useful (female card) I've seen and shes my second favorite female in the game. (Can't top Lilith- noone can)
Sanctum Guard is also very impressive looking, decent stats with first strike- symbol bonus is helpful- you get it for being Kazatega twice in story mode.
She ROCKS.

I'm not to sure about the medal thing. I could be wrong but I did do a test with cheat codes to see what the medals would get you and the Astral Queen wasn't one of them. I knew she casted Camoflage someway/how, but her HP ability some how eluded me...but then again any creature I set down gets killed the next turn anyway so it doesn't matter how many good cretures I have. One of the reasons I think the game is mind nummingly difficult is the fact that a 50 HP monster can somehow "magicaly" be defeated by an attacking fighter with absolutly no other power bonus.
Is Kazatega the Japanese name? I don't recall bumping in to him in story mode at all. I recall fighting everyone but the bird man and the scientist at least twice.

Kazatega is unlocked right after you beat the Cratos tournament. It's the name of the land (like Dunnan, Temple of the Medium, etc). And in another thread on this board, Dragon Helm and Astral Queen are listed as E cards earned after you get 25 medals. Maybe using cheating devices will get you medals, but the game doesn't recognized them as earned, so it doesn't unlock anything? Just a theory. As for a female deck, it kind of made me laugh as a friend of mine is famous for his "chick deck" when he plays Yugioh. It's not made to win, but just includes cards with "chicks" on them. In this game however, I think it's very possible to make a decent deck with only female creatures. I was joking with my friends while playing a versus game that I would create a "chick" deck one of these days...just need more cards...

I don't use cheat devices (not a challenge), and I received the Astral Queen (E) by either collecting enough medals or getting all Item cards or Neutral creature cards (something like that).
Actually, I think I won the Sanctum Guard by collecting all of one type of card - Astral Queen is a medal bonus gained by collecting a certain number of medals. I only have about 35+ medals, so it's about a 25-32 or so collection bonus.
