Mythologically, Amazons are castrated males (rather, males captured and assimilated into Amazonian society are castrated to keep under control). Note how the Amazon screams (definitely a female scream) the next time it is killed? LOL the first time I heard that! Off the top of my head: There are a couple of red ones names Shaharazad and Peri. I believe the green Healer is female. There is a gray creature - a half angel/half demon named something like Migoal if memory serves. I believe this is female also. I realize that traditionally Amazons are females, I see absolutely nothing female about the amazon in Culdcept. My roommate and I discussed this during a game a while back.... As far as what to do to get certain cards, there are some theories regarding who you win certain colors from. I chalk it all up to luck of the draw though.

Migoal is male.

Yeah the first time the Amazon died I actually cracked up laughing too- I had assumed it was a male. I think Sanctum Gaurd is only available by beating Kazatega board twice (Whirldwind and Ryvern). It's a story card, like Erasure and the Rainbow Piece.

25 Medals: Obtain "Dragon Helm" & "Astral Queen" E-rated cards. ...but I do believe we are off topic. I don't use cheat devices (not a challenge), and I received the Astral Queen (E) by either collecting enough medals or getting all Item cards or Neutral creature cards (something like that). Actually, I think I won the Sanctum Guard by collecting all of one type of card - Astral Queen is a medal bonus gained by collecting a certain number of medals. I only have about 35+ medals, so it's about a 25-32 or so collection bonus.

Thanks, WhoseYerLilith. I won the Sanctum Guard so unexpectedly that I didn't realize how I got it - which is par for the course when winning most of the medals. Wish I could find a strategy guide in English. (Found a source for new ones but written in Japanese.) When I'm online, I'm nowhere near the game to check out the particulars.
Isn't the Amazon scream a riot? Yet another "nice touch" detail contained in this game.
BTW, off-topic here or not: To the person who recently mentioned wanting a card guide, last week I noticed some new promotional Culdcept II posters on eBay for about $5 but shipping is high (like $10-12) from overseas. The large poster is two-sided and has illustrations of all the cards.
Back on topic: Astral Queen, Sanctum Guard, and Valkyria are some of my favorite "female" cards to use. I like Dark Elf when I Growth Body her (same w/Valkyria). I've attempted to use Lilith a few times but I can't get her to work right most of the time. Maybe I am not understanding "deals?" Healer serves her purpose if she's Land Protect'd because she's normally hit with Blasts and Bolts as soon as she's summoned.

Uhn. Lilith is my favorite card and creature to use, she's not great at holding down a territory with a relatively low HP rating of 30*until growth bodied*, but she can hold her own very well, especially in the early game. Her ST is equal to the number of cards you have in your hand (after you use an item) and she has first strike, she's one of the few blue creatures who does not have a land requirement. So first roll, you draw a Lilith, roll the die, land on a blue, place her and bam you now have a 50 30 first strike creature. Definitely a choice card for any blue deck.

Lilliths are cool, I wish I could get more of them. I like Sphinxes too, but they lower my green cards so it's kind of a trade off - they hurt my healers and dryads, but are pretty strong. I haven't seen Peri yet. Is she gained by just completing games? I have a couple Sharazades and 1 Valkyria *sigh* so another Red would be great. As it stands, I might as well just ignore Red squares unless I draw my Camoflague card and play it. Most of my deck is still yellow cards.. I did get a Grimalkin, but would it hurt the game to give more Elves and Dark Elves? Is it hard to get medals? 25 sounds like a lot, but after reading what the Astral Queen does.... *drool*

Yeah Lilith's rock- it took me a while to get a few of them, though now I have like 14 of em. (And still only one frickin evil blast!) Peri is a regular red creature who looks very Escherian and has an odd ST bonus.
Astral Queen is phenomenal in that she is the only creature that grants a status effect on everyone in play, not only can you build a great strategy around the use of Camoflauge, but you can also build some great strategies utilizing Archbishops, Punishers, Exile and Exorcism.
25 Medals isn't too daunting of a task, you can do the relatively fun/easy ones first and there are ways to get 6 or 7 of them done at one time.

Yeah, if can get that A. Queen, that would certainly make my Red weakness less. Right now I have 2 Camoflague spell cards in my hand. Probably not optimal, but it works okay.
I'll have to check the medals thread to be sure.
Heheh I don't have any Evil Blasts myself, of course I wish I had 14 Liliths.
I notice one thing about Liliths - the seem to make the AI use their items up. Is it because they can figure out her strength and what I have in my hand?

I've gotten enough creatures and such to make this deck usable in vs. matches and story mode.
Creatures:
Non-Elemental 1x Cleric 2x Migoal
Fire/Red 1x Peri 3x Sharazad 1x Valkyria
Water/Blue 1x Amazon 1x Fate 1x Lilith 1x Medusa 1x Nymph
Earth/Green 1x Dark Elf 4x Dryad 1x Healer 1x Mandrake
Wind/Yellow 1x Elf 2x Harpy 2x Nike 3x Sprite 2x Succubus 1x Witch
Items: 1x Chain Mail 1x Gaseous Form 1x Ebony Kris 2x Long Sword 2x Morning Star 1x Petrify Stone 1x Plate Mail 1x Power Bracelet 1x Prism Wand 1x Tower Shield
Spells: 1x Chameleon 1x Growth Body 2x Magic Bolt 1x Raise Dead 1x Spirit Walk 1x Telegnosis
Decent enough? Any ways to make it better?
One thing I'm noticing, and I can't figure out why, is how I'm getting such bad early game draws. A lot of times I'll start with all creatures that need land requirements or 4 items and one said creature. Usually the deck starts playing right and I'll be able to come back or at least be a presence in the game if I'm playing Me + Story Character vs 2 Story Characters.
In the story mode battle where its Me vs Alda vs Leo, I was in last place by far after 20 turns, then came back to win it, taking the lead from the 26th turn on. I saved that replay to figure out what the heck is going on, but I can't figure out why I can't get any good early game draws so I can lead out with occupying the board instead of always having to hope to invade to win.
