Decided to play a match against Whirlwind on Cratos 2, to pick up the "I paid 20 or more tolls" and "I paid 3K or more of tolls" medals. Holy Words 0-3 (to force myself to land on tolls), Quicksand (ditto), Greed, etc. Set the limit to 50K because I didn't want him to reach the limit too early with all his ill-gotten tolls. 
As an afterthought, I threw in two Catastrophes to try for the Roar Of The Butcher (kill 10+ creatures at once) medal. The Catastrophes came up early, so I held them. Creatureless deck with Faerie Light, so I built up lots of G in the process. With nothing better to do, I invested it in yellow Symbols. Threw some Feasts around to encourage Whirlwind to level some spaces up to level 5 so I could Greed one and pay a big toll. After paying 21 tolls, I decided it was time to wipe the board and get my Butcher medal... but first, I went to the Temple and sold all those Symbols. Waited for him to touch the Castle again, then cast Catastrophe on two consecutive turns, clearing the board. Feeling silly, I then started looping around the Temple, buying cheap yellow Symbols as fast as I could. Got it up to 297 symbols (6 visits) before I couldn't afford any more. Then I went on with the game.
After a few turns, I noticed something interesting.
Whirlwind was no longer taking yellow spaces. Even the level 5 ones left over from pre-Catastrophe. Apparently, capturing that land would be more valuable to me and my nearly 300 symbols than it would be for Whirlwind himself, so he didn't capture any of it. He was going around dropping his creatures on level 1 blue spaces and such. It was quite amusing to watch.
When I ran to the Shrine and unloaded all of my Symbols, he immediately started taking the high-value yellow spaces again. But it was really funny watching him ignore max-level squares out of a fear of helping me too much.
