I am not entirely certain what specifically you need to do to win this medal. If anyone could both clarify and post some strategies (the more specific the better), it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thumpasaurus, since you were so helpful to me in obtaining the Rare Tribe medal, I'll share with you what I remember from when I achieved this medal.
First of all, you have to win a one-on-one battle using a deck that contains no item cards. This is actually an easier obstacle to overcome than it may sound at first. You'll want spells that increase the stats of your creatures already on the board (consider Vitality, Regeneration, Mutation, and Wing). Choose creatures that can give themselves bonuses if they don't use items (these include Pyro Drake, Catoblepas, Master Monk, Giant Rattler, and Suiko), that naturally critically hit to make up for strength deficiencies (Gladiator, the two Giants, and Grendel) or who use extraneous factors to increase theior stats (Lilith, Gouda, Mujina, and Leoknight). You should definitely consider Support creatures who can use other creatures as items (my favorites are Carbuncle, Odradek, Bloody Pudding, Valkyria, and Pirate) plus take any Living Swords/Spears/Shields you have, which any creature can use as an item.
You should make note that there is one more somewhat controversial requirement to "take more than 10000G in tolls". I think the early ostensible belief was that you needed to win with 10000G or more, but this may not be the case (though you may want to set this anyway). When I look at my medal in the Medal Menu, it says "Max toll: 1352" or something similar. Therefore, I chalking this up to another bad translation and I'm deducing that you need the maximum single toll that you collected in this match to exceed 1000G, which any Level 4 land should net for you.
Best of luck to you, Thumpasaurus. I really have enjoyed typing your handle.

Ah, thank you for the response. I was beginning to think nobody wanted to help. I'm glad my previous advice was of some assistance. The whole no item thing doesn't sound daunting to me, especially after 44 other medals, some much more challenging. I know I can make a mean deck full of boost spells and support creatures. The really confusing part is this "10,000 in tolls". I hope this is as you suggest, just a bad translation and really means I only need to collect one toll of over 1,000. I'll give it a shot and post my results... UPDATE: I did indeed earn the medal on my first try. From the score display on my medal, I would guess that you only have to earn 1,000 in tolls, and that doesn't even need to be from one toll, but your grand total instead. My maximum toll amount is listed at 4,788, and that is the grand TOTAL of tolls I took, not my single best toll. My score is primarily from a couple of tolls over 2,000, but considering that much less than 4,000 is apparently required, and it scores you on your grand total, I think you just need 1,000 from as many different tolls as you want. Though confusing, this would seem to be a very easy medal to earn. For the record, I just used a deck with Old Willow and Kelpie. My Kelpie came up first, so I laid it down, used Mutation and Growth Body, leveled it up to level 5, and laid waste to the competition (in this case Luthien). I had some Living Shields for added protection (but never ended up needing it) and used Land Protection to prevent annoying curses.
