With Kelpie being the only auto-stopper in the game this time around, it's sure to be a pretty popular card. There are lots of ways to make a Kelpie hard to kill in battle - reflection, fist-fight, MHP boosts, tough song, a bevy of items, etc. And then theres the problem of protecting it from evil spells. If ever there was a creature that BEGGED to be bolted, zapped, and otherwise molested, you KNOW it's the Kelpie. So let's use this thread to brainstorm combos and show off your most optimized Kelpie-abuse decks.
RULES: - 50 cards - Stopping cepters on Kelpies must be this deck's primary goal.
Let the games begin!
P.S. - I'll post my own deck shortly... haven't actually made one yet =)

I'll post mine up. I think it's currently 23-1 online in the US. I lost the one because the third guy (third wheel) kept landing on the second guy's big lands and gave him the win just when I got Kelpie out.

Lol. That's a pretty good track record.
Edit - I set out to make the world's most deadly kelpie deck today, and realized I don't have a single copy of Silence. And in my opinion, a truly nasty Kelpie deck must have 4x Silence. Oh well. back to the card grind.
in lieu of making the perfect Kelpie deck, I made the world's most imperfect Random deck, utilizing all things random and unpredictable in the world of Culdcept. Protean Rings, Spectres, etc. And I actually won a story match with it! (On a mostly neutral board.)

Haven't acquired my Kelpie in this game yet but abused him in the PS2. I plan to utilize reflection water shield Gaseous form land protection telegnosis mana drain magic haste ring of succubus wind of hope growth and several walls of Ice .gelatinous walls and aquahorns
This way I earn money and lap quickly, can place a wall that I can level safely and replace and I can utilize wind of hope to draw my kelpies. To defend reflection to turn him into decoy. Ring of succubus to neuter strengths on non first attack invasions, gaseous forms and water shield for nigh complete safety and even though the name of this shield escapes me their is a shield that makes you immune to scrolls. It would be used whenever the opponent holds scrolls. Growth for extra health.

Here's mine. I think Kelpie is still a terrible creature and a book with him has the best opportunity to win in 1v1 or 2v2. In a 3lp or 4p match, provided your opponents are good, the only thing he should define is the moment you will be getting wrecked. That said, this book I've used has several layers which can make up for mishaps. It will also work well in an alliance match.
Kelps 3.0 -------------------------------------------- Creatures: 17
Living Mirror x1 Lunatic Hare x1 Fay x2 Tokebi x2 Deep-sea Dragon x2 Kelpie x3 Lamia x2 Wall of Ice x2 Rock Shell x2
Items: 4
Counter Amulet x2 Ring of the Succubus x2
Spells: 29
Chariot x2 Crusher STorm x1 Debility x2 Fat Body x2 Intrusion x2 Lunatic Light x2 Paralyzer x2 Reflection x3 Relief x1 Revelation x1 Revival x1 Senility x2 Sink x2 Spirit Walk x1 Telegnosis x2 Telekinesis x1 Trespass x2 --------------------------------------------

Well im much more used to using yellow in the game for pure speed but I have gotten into playing with kelpies and I am quite happy with the outcome. I use CREATURES KelpieX4 Gelatinous WallX4 AhuizotlX3 UndineX4 RahabX2 Lizard ManX3 (or attacker of your liking gotta love att. first) SPELLS holy word zerosX4 backwardsX4 Fairylight or PermisionX4 (depending on the map) fearX2 sinkX4 ITEMS blueshieldsX4 spikedshieldsX4 Storm ArmorX4 Basic priciples is that when you lay a kelpie down you can use backwords to back up and then go back over it to level it up or wait. The real use of the backwards is so that when your opponet stops on it you can back then up (assuming you put it in a place where they will not be able to change direction) and then when they roll again they will hit it agian for maximum amounts of hits and on top of that if you have holy word zeros then if you have the items to keep the kelpie alive then they are stuck there paying you over and over. Just keep racking up the chains and the undines will get huge as well and if they are unlucky enough to land on them then thats another canidate for the holy word zero. Just remember that this is a defensive deck so you will probibly be paying tolls so just make sure that they are paying you more than them and your score will rack quickly. have fun
