Hi. I enjoy the site.
I am new to the game, but played the demoe and liked it. I am a fan of MtG so this seemed like a good fit for me. So far I like it.
What distribution should people have in their decks? I understand it will be different for different themes.
Right now, I have played two of the four first elementals. The third (water) is particularly hard. I don't really have enough cards to have a good theme for my deck. I basically only take good cards that I can support.
I have about 40% creatures, 45% items and 15% spells. My limited strategy is get my creatures on lands and always have some surprise items to get the advantage -- raising ST, neutralizing attacks and first attacks... that sort of thing. So far it works pretty well. Not great, but good enough. I could never beat anyone with a cohesive theme in the deck; my cards aren't symbiotic enough.
I guess I need to grind a bit to get some more cards.

For reasons I've mentioned elsewhere, you'll want a higher percentage spells in your book. I'll briefly touch on it again. Spells are more useful more of the time than items and it's silly to shoot to fill the map with creatures so you can do with less of them. You can use spells to ensure you get creatures or to refresh you book to normal and redraw your creatures in your book. People can put in all the high MHP creatures and crazy items they want and you can instantly kill that creaure during one spell phase.
I won't give youi some standard as there is none, as you know, but I generally oscillate between 30-40% creatures, 8-16% items and 50-65% or so spells.
