Actually, I believe decks similar to this work even better in Culdcept Saga. I will let Topcat post the deck listing if he still has one in his book list. I deleted my attempt at this deck already but they are very annoying (read: prolong games at times). Peluda is also a nice addition to some of the more direct damage Red books. A deck similar to this can drop a Colossus rather quickly. It's happened to me before.

I've only played against one person who used an all spell damage book, and I tried a similar book I made in two battles. In all three cases it was a pretty protracted battle and mid to late game the book only really stalled. Having gotten Drained a couple of times, I was steadily losing any ground I could muster by vacating their lands. I really hate it; it's very very boring for me. In particular, the things I don't like are:
1) Even with Incineration, you gain magic very slowly. This isn't as bad in Saga as in Second since you can throw in four Trespasses. Though, you will mostly likely get drained since you don't have a manner of dumping your money.
2) A book like this is very inefficient. In particular, you can't multiply your assets for a large profit by using land chains. Nor can you use land tolls to boost your assets while depleting anothers (that's a "iffy" corollary to reason 2, though, since relying on land tolls can backfire).
I will admit, I only played it in 3-ways and 4-ways. The book can shoot up to around 3K or 4K magic not so bad in one of those games, but at that point you become the victim of every Drain Magic.
I think the best way to fix the book is to throw in four Goblin's Lairs and use Goblins to help funnel money into and out of lands. It's also quite common to play someone with Redcap and/or Borgess and they're gain will also be yours.
Kuroi alluded to this, but I played a Red book with a similar emphasis. In particular it focused on Hell Pyron instead of Incineration; Hell Pyron's TA gives you 50G for each destroyed creature. I've seen someone get 3000G from him once (It was a 4-way battle). I think I still have a copy of it on my AI character so perhaps I'll post it up. It was a little unfocused but had a good base.

Thanks for the information! I have never been exposed to the Culdcept metagame beyond my small group of friends, so I'm looking forward to testing my concepts online. If I attempt to recreate Cataclysm in Saga, it'll likely be more of a creature-oriented hybrid. The original was successful, yes, but it irritated a lot of people - some to the point of quitting mid-game. I do like decks that have a strong control element to them, but I'd like to keep my friends this time around.
