Avatar Parts

I'll create this thread for anyone with questions on how to obtain certain Avatar Parts. Topcat and I have recently achieved all parts and the most grueling, time consuming, boring, mindless, item is the Aura Blade. One hundred Story Mode battles nets you this bad boy. Why they would subject any fan of the series to this many Story Mode battles is beyond me. I would have gladly taken battles against AI characters in any mode. Anyway, I guess between all the Avatar Parts and the Achievements this is as close to a "Medal Hunting" section as we're going to get.

dang I so want to start playing this game and we're looking at October now =b

edit - I suppose if they do bigger DLC(s) we might get new achievements along for the ride (up to 250ea).

The blade looks nice; it has a neat translucent sea-green gradient going on. But it's totally not worth all that effort put into story mode. Going through the whole story once and getting the E cards counts for about 36 games. Averaging about 10 minutes per game for the rest means you have over 10 hours of boredom ahead of you for one stupid part. And it's totally not worth it to do most of the other avatar parts in story mode where you can't tinker with magic limit.

The fastest way KK found to do it was to fight Kennitt in Colosseum 1. Using a deck of only Kelpie with the point being to put a Kelpie down and cast Reflection on him to make him invincible, then using money spells to level him up as quick as you can. He's less aggressive than Rilara on the first stage and these are the only two maps to have a 5000G magic goal.

On another note, I can't wait for the game to come out on these shores so I can play games at reasonable hours with people in/near my own time zone. ^_^

Nice. Very FFXI. I really wish you could choose an avatar when starting a new game... I'm not too fond of the main character. I'll have more incentive to charge through the main game, I guess.

Is it true that equipping 2 swords on your avatar allows for 2 weapons in combat?

Do not believe anything you hear about avatar parts. They have no abilities whatsoever. They are only for show and style.

My main gripe is that they haven't added new costume shapes. The default female av costume is the only really "feminine" costume in the game. I would like something more angelic and beautiful to wear. And damn those stupid anklets.

How come I can't play Col 1 when I go to past stages?
The Kelpie/Reflection trick doesn't work well on Satana against Faustina. Same goes for Col 3 with Koeneg (sp?). Those are the lowest 2 levels I can access on past stages. Col 3 sucks because it's up to 8000G, so I've been going at it on Santana with all spells (money and nukes) no creatures and haven't lost yet. Battle axe and Aura blade are my last 2 and I can't wait. ;D

Edit: Well, I just got my Battle axe. 50 more to go and I get the achievement.

I know I won't be the first one with 1000 Gamescore in this game (just need aura blade and 200 online wins) and certainly hope not the last. For this game is a long great journey.

Now... I hope release Culdcept DLC

New maps, new cards, maybe from old Culdcept games,
and new achievements (250GS is what is usually added for DLC)
and throw a 10-15 dollar price tag (800-1200 MS points) on it and i'm all over it. It might be too early since the game hasn't been out entirely that long. I don't know how long MS likes to wait before releasing DLC.
