Hi everyone, I'm new here.
I'm in the process of creating a new website for Culdcept fans in the US.
The site will include news, forums, card searching, and anything else you guys can suggest.
I just wanted to invite everyone to the site when its ready. The most active members / moderators here are welcome to become moderators on the new site. The site will be built for people like you so let me know what you want.
Also - I'm in need of art for the site so anyone interested in helping please respond to this thread.

Welcome. You can feel free to use my card list if you want. It's complete, but I use a more literal translation from japanese than the US localization uses so there are slight differences in wording. home.comcast.net/~yomibear/culdcards.html

Great list TopCat, I'll be sure to give you credit. Moptop - I'm thinking of starting off with a Joomla! template very similar to: blackbear.joomlabear.com/Its a pretty basic layout but I want to get something up fast to coincide with the game's release and I'm busy with school/work as well. I can always adapt a new look later. So far the development is going ahead of schedule. I've got the backend running with an integrated forum and everything works. Biggest task is customizing the theme as well getting artwork for each card. I really have no idea how I'll get EVERY single card but IT WILL BE DONE. So if you have time and want to do it - make some images that can rotate in the banner area - with those same dimensions. I have one other guy working on that as well but you're definitely at a higher level. I do want a lot of images though ~10. And make sure to keep .psd files because again the layout and theme of the site may change but I would hate to lose the usefulness of the art.

I'm sure everyone is interested in a re-vamped, updated site. Also, and I hope you don't take any offense to any of this as it is strictly opinion on what I see, it doesn't look like you have played in this series yet. I was perusing (lurking? I don't have a name, so whatever that is called) the gamefaqs forums for a laugh recently and happened to catch that you were making a website. I didn't pay much mind to it at the time, honestly, but I was just wondering what makes you so sure you are going to want to keep the forums up and running as you do not yet have any real desire to keep with the game. Unless I'm ignorant to the fact and you have played a Culdcept before. Seriously, almost 99% of the comments on that forum are 1) Wrong, 2) Ignorant, 3) Misinformed people spouting things as truth. I'm not sure I'd want to see all of them together with me on a forum. Again, I'm not trying to be mean, it's just what I've always noticed on those forums. Plus, this site really does have several "Pro's", whether Japanese, American, European, et cetera. And more information on the internet than you can find about Culdcept II and Culdcept Saga outside of any Japanese forum.
I don't want to deter you from trying to make the site I was just making sure you were really into keep the site up and running. I also wanted you to know how many dedicated fans this forum has now and has had for many years. So, all in all, good luck and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I just get curious and like to ask questions. m(_ _)m

With all due respect, mrw0nka, I would prefer that you not take up bandwidth here on Culdcept Forum to discuss the development of your website. Considering that some sites might not even allow you to advertise the fact that you're trying to attract the members of a site to one of your own, I think I'm already being pretty agreeable in letting your posts stand as they are at this point. However, this forum was begun in order to discuss Culdcept, and I would appreciate it if we could stay focused on that.
I don't mean to be insulting toward you or toward your effort, as I'm certain that many of the members of this site would certainly hope to see the Culdcept series get the respect that it deserves. Additional sites dedicated to the game can help to do that, and I certainly wish you well in your efforts. However, now that you have informed the members of this site of your endeavor, let's leave it at that, shall we?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and let's get back to the discussion of the game!

I'll make one last post here and won't bother you guys any more if you don't want me to. Yes, I'm a Culdcept noob. Without too much bragging though I'm a VERY good MTG player and all around board game guru. I own a lot of card games and board games. To be honest with you I spend more time analyzing rules and breaking down strategies than actually playing. This is probably because the people I play with are no where near my skill level. MTGO is a big exception there - plenty of competition in that area. @kuroi Kenshi: I know you disagree on my take about the hands being hidden. I won't deny that but that's the only stance I've taken on this game. I stand by it 100%. About me maintaining the site - the site will be here for years to come whether I'm active with it or not. I pay for hosting various other sites and because I don't use much bandwidth I decided to take up another project: culdceptsaga.com. I don't kill sites when I lose interest. For example tidesofblood.com is still around. Some people here might know of the Warcraft 3 mod. I'm also known as Windigo in some circles. www.battle.net/mod/halloffame.shtml#Tides%20of%20BloodThat project has in many ways been abandoned but I keep the site up - I've had that up for probably over 4 years now. And it will stay up probably indefinitely. I'm creating this Culdcept site because I see it filling a void. I looked for information out there and a gather place and I couldn't find it. Someone at Gamefaqs linked me here and this seems to be where the knowledgeable people are. So what I wanted to do was give you guys a place a little nicer than a free forum. A place where you don't have to register just to browse information. I came here because not only am I a Culdcept noob but I don't have time to moderate forums and come up with articles alone. You guys will probably have more interesting things to say than I do. I came here to offer you guys a new home basically. You will be the news posters and the forum moderators. I know some of you guys have been here a while and will probably be resistant. People don't like change for some reason. Remember though - I'm making the site for people like you and it will be run by people like you. I'm just the guy in the background.
