I wanted to note that on the bright side, if you pick up a Japanese Xbox 360 and alread have an US Xbox 360, everything is transferrable.
I was able to pop in my US HDD, power cords, and Xbox live account and let everything roll.
On a side note I have a Japanese 360 live account (silver) which allows for some different downloads, but we may need to check that periodically to see if there are culdcept updates that you need the other account for. :X

Mmm. I can confirm this as well, but there are some things I still have to confirm. While the HDD's are transferable (that's what I've done for my set up) I'm not sure if all game saves are the same. Going back to the PS1 days when my JRPG data obviously would not load on the US Games, though on occasion this worked for DC. I know my DOA4 data will load up on a Japanese or US game. I wonder if Culdcept will load up all my data if I purchase the US version when it comes out. That'd be wonderful indeed. I'm going to check this out next week with Shutokou Battle X, as I have the import I will just rent the US version (blandly named Import Tuner? )
