Does anyone bother to save their replays?
It seems to me there really isn't any function to watching a playback of a game other than to either 'study' where your deck went wrong (which REALLY shouldn't require viewing a playback, you can pretty much tell where your deck has gone wrong WHILE your playing it), or to perhaps bask in the afteglow of, or brag to a friend about, a particularly hard match (which is just lame, in my opinion.)

I thought the same thing too, Solis. There isn't really any strategic value to it, but people can still find it useful for reasons of posterity.
Take me for example. The first time I played Heavenly Altar at the end of story mode, Balberit and my Dark Self were slamming me. I didn't think I had a prayer until I drew Leoknight towards the end of my deck. I was able to hit several of their monsters for 150-200 damage normally. Imagine how happy I was when I drew another Leoknight for the first card of my new reshuffled deck. I outclassed them in almost every battle after that and won with about 12000-3000-1200, and this began when I only had two territories and less than 1000 in my pocket. So I saved that replay for its personal significance.
I say that replays are a nice addition that wouldn't really have changed the game if they weren't there but certainly add something to it. You never have to save replays and each one only takes up about a measly 23K on your memory card, so if you want to make one of your previous memorable games into a movie, then do it.
