Last night, my roommate and I were trying out one of my new maps I received with 35 medals (Ryvern was with us). I noticed that there was what looked like a prophet's tent there except it was taller and white. Ryvern landed there and it said "welcome to the card shop". It gave him a choice of four seemingly random cards (I think they were Holy Word 1, Teleport, Wind of Hope, and Icicle), but Ryvern declined them all. He'd land there three more times and always declined, Dominic and I couldn't land there once.
I had never heard the shops being mentioned before, on this site or GameFAQs or anywhere. What do the card shops do for you? Do they just allow you to use an extra card for that match (making your book 51 cards, or do you have to drop one)? Does it cost anything? Do you get to add the card to your total stock (that may explain why the CPU charcater always passed)? I'm just curious.

When you buy a card at a card shop it is added to your hand for that game only. You do not have to drop one. They cost mana to purchase. It does not, to my knowledge, get added to your stock. I don't whether it remains if you cycle through your deck during that battle.
A given card shop on a given map always has the same cards available. Hope that helps.
