The more I think about this, the more confused I get. I've surfed www.culdcept.com and I somehow got to a page where I found a "Culdcept II". I translated it with alta-vista and was able to make out a "Dreamcast" in the text. Anyway, I was just wondering-is the Culdcept we have now the newest version of the game or have there been sequals released in Japan? I know there have been at least one expansion but I've heard that they put it into the U.S. version of Culdcept.

If I remember correctly, there have been several episodes of Culdcept in Japan.
The first game of the series was named Culdcept, and has been published on both Sega Saturn and Playstation systems.
The following one was Culdcept II, on Sega Dreamcast.
(All those games never went out of Japan)
Omiya then decided to develop a remake of Culdcept II for the Playstation 2 console. It was named Culdcept II Second Expansion, referring to many new cards brought to the game.
Finally, Nec Interchannel (fortunately) chose to bring this series for the first time in the US, and renamed Culdcept II Second Expansion into "Culdcept".
