I just went over to EBay and saw bids for a brand new copy already going for $49, and there is still 22 hrs left before end of auction!! Not to mention the seller also charges $4.95 shipping. Although you can still get it cheaper at half.com, the minimum is about $42 + $2.95 shipping. Holy crap, i'm gonna head to my local Frys and hope they still have the 5-6 copies i saw 2 weeks ago. Gonna get em all.

Amazon, Target & Gamestop are still selling the game new for $39.99, so there is no reason to pay inflated prices.

Right. I just checked the GameStop site within the last few days, and I was surprised to find that several brick-and-mortar stores (at least five or six) claimed to have between 1 and 3 copies in-stock at that time. Not to mention that GameStop.com still seems to be taking on-line orders, too.
However, I would imagine that would change someday, if a second pressing of the game has not been (or will not be) made by NEC...

True true, you and i both know that, but obviously those folks who're jacking up the auctions don't know that. I got my copy some time ago for $34, but who am i to tell them they're overpaying when its still arguably easily available for $39.99. I'm just saying if someone is willing to pay inflated prices then i have no problems selling to them ;D.

Wow. I just paid $17 for this game 'used' over at the local EB. But I'm using their term...'used.' It was actually a new title that wasn't selling so they took the shrink wrap off of it and called it used. The manual had never even been taken out of the case.
The highest I've seen it sold for in retailers out here is $34.99 I should really pick up a few copies if they're going for so much online.

I was picking up a copy of Ninja Gaiden and noticed they had a new copy of Culdcept. Once I got to the counter they said they had a "used" copy, but after looking at it it really looked like it had never been touched. Cost me $19. Definitely check your local EB Games for a cheap copy.

[glow=red,2,300]Don't be caught without a backup![/glow] It appears that EB is the ONLY place where the game is less than full retail on a regular basis. I too was able to buy a back up Culdcept PS2 game for under $15. The game was bran' spankin' NEW. Oh sure, EB opened it for me so they could sell it as used, but the game I bought is as new as new gets. That piece of mind is good to have when it is your favorite game. I am going to lend it to my brother so he and I can start a battle Royale!

Price fluctuations may also be regional. When I was at EB earlier today, asking about about another game (Dead or Alive Ultimate), I just happened to ask about Culdcept. The clerks there gave me a funny look and said they never heard of it. They then checked their computer inventory and it was not listed there.
So I consider myself lucky that I 'inherited' it from a frustrated friend. He could not get past the Temple of the Medium. Not surprising when he has only played the Story mode, and had hardly tweaked the base deck at all. Oh well, his loss, my new addiction! ;D

Yep the Eb's in tampa have them at 12 bucks also. At this price there is no excuse for anyone to not get it. Whats strange is that my store still sells them at 34.99 and they sell well at that price. I try to mention it to everyone I see buying magic cards or other board game video games.
