Personally, I hate the fact that you are limited to just one item, spell, etc per round. It makes the game too predictable...I can now calculate exactly what it will take to defeat a creature based on the cards the other guy is holding.
I say if you've got the G then you should be able to spend it. Why not be able to do MULTIPLE things such as evil blast + bolt some really big creature if you've got the G and holding both cards then turn around paralyze a creature then go into battle and add BOTH armor and offense if again you are holding the cards and have the G to spend...ALL IN ONE SINGLE ROUND.
This would make for much varied gameplay...will your opponent counter with multiple attacks, spells or armor...hmmmm.

You know, you gotta point there. If you ask me, I'd like to see an even bigger library of total cards. I keep thinking about the Magic The Gathering PS game I have, and how soooo much better they could have done it. How many cards are there out there for Magic? If they had done it like Culdcept, I wouldn't sleep for months (ok, maybe hours; I'm still human...or am I).
I like the idea of hundreds of cards with the effects (though a bit simple). But increase this even two fold and it makes replay value multiply hundreds of times! Maybe they will consider that.

Features i'd like to see in Culdcept 3:
The ability to look at your opponents hand at any time
OR
Hand knowledge totally not allowed (except, perhaps, by spell effect).
Currently, the computer has FAR too large of an advantage when it comes to hand knowledge. ESPICALLY against a newbie like myself.
and
MORE CARDS!
and
The ability to PURCHASE (in game, not like an expansion) cards to complete your collection.

In my opinion, Bob Smith's plan to be able to use multiple spells and items in one round is too unfair. It would further reward players who are already doing too well. Since the wealth of a player who has been getting good tolls and chains increases exponentially, he would be unstoppable if he could wait and draw Catastrophe, Evil Blast, Masamune and Plate Mail and use them all in the same turn. It's better to have rules that prevent these kinds of displays of power.
I also think that being able to look at your opponents hand at any time would defeat a lot of the challenge in the game. Can you look at your opponents' hands in Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh? How about in poker or Risk? If enough people want it, then maybe it could be an option that you could turn on or off, but its more fun to try and catch those fleeting glimpses of the CPU's hand and launch an attack when you are not 100% sure that you're guaranteed to win.
On the positive side, I'd like to see more cards, maybe a book that can hold 75 or 100 cards, and a board editor. It would be so simple to create your on boards that I'm really surprised that it wasn't included.

I tend to agree that multiple items are bad. One irrelevant reason, but one I like is that both sides lay a face down card which is flipped over. If you use multiple items, that system would have serious problems.

Since I play mainly single player, I'd love to see the single player portion of the game expanded. Has anyone here ever played the Shandalar portion of the Magic the Gathering PC game? It would be great to have free-roam access to towns, play some mini-games (like "guess the card name based on the art" or something) to win cards, dungeons with bad guys that hold valuable cards, "card fetch quests, etc.
I would also love to see the medal system revamped to give a unique card for each medal received; something that relates to the acquisition of the medal. For example, for the pauper one: A cepter spell that reads "For the next three rounds, if you lose enough G to force you to release lands or symbols to pay a land toll, control of the land you paid the toll on passes to you after you pay the toll." Something like that.
I wonder if we'll get a Culdcept on the PSP? Ooohh...
