I had just acquired my 15th medal and received the Polymorph as a prize. (Spell G:80+C Random transform of target creature.)
I was messing around with it against Selena, and was able to use it four times in different games. (Twice on her creatures, twice on mine.) For Selena, for her Woodfolk and Trench Worm, she received a Dragon Zombie and a Dark Master. Not pleasant. As for me, after Polymorphing my Bard and Minotaur, I was gifted with a Virus and a Squonk.
I mean, does this kind of thing happen to anyone else, or am I just lucky that way?

That reminds me of when I first received a Baldanders. When I first sent him to attack, he transformed into a Flame Lord and I was suitably impressed. When he was attacked next turn, he became a Golden Totem and was obliterated.
Polymorph and Baldanders (and the Proteus Ring) make completely random transformations. You have as much chance as becoming a Ba'al as a Dancing Doll.

Yeah, I don't like Badlanders, either because it is too unreliable offensively and defensively. Better is the Doppleganger armed with a weapon or armour of some ilk. I haven't used Polymorph yet because of an unfortunate Goblin event with Badlanders.

I find Polymorph to be more and more useful though only in dealing with an upcoming LV 4 or LV 5 toll. You have an 80% chance that the creature will turn into something easier simply by being another color and losing that land bonus, my favorite had to be Mullyn's evil Wall of Ice that she continually caught me and my friend on and it was transformed into a Raksas. First time I ever saw the useless tiger man in battle. A joke on a Level 5 Blue territory. Naturally Mullyn switched him out the next turn she passed, but it does make for a pretty fun card- though my new obsession is "Replace".

Shouldn't take the Raksas so lightly This Egyptian god is one of the toughest cards in the game! Growth body him and Land Protect or Wing for defense and he's about unbeatable, and especially when armed with the Earth Shield. Offensively, he can take out almost anything anywhere (no land or weapon restrictions), even with only a Kris. A very reliable card when you keep him on the board and use the Move command. One of my absolute favorites - if someone were to Polymorph my creature to Raksas, I'd generally be happy. ~s6 I find Polymorph to be more and more useful though only in dealing with an upcoming LV 4 or LV 5 toll. LOL s6- did you forget to log in again!
Yeah I hear what your saying about Raksas, though any creature can be valuable with the right inventory- but taking a 20 120 blue creature with Mullyn's vast array of Water Shields and turning it into a 50 30 green creature on a LV 5 Blue Land (essentially a Death Gaze) with nothing to protect it was a serious detriment to her.

Yep! Right again. Ah, yes...might seem like I didn't 'get' what you were saying but I did. [waking up - *stretch*] Glad it happened to water-laden Mullyn Just pointing out that Raksas rocks...in my book. LOL s6- did you forget to log in again! Reminds me of when Ryvern tried to take one of my lands with a Baldanders. It turned into a Lung. He had no water symbols. Bye bye, Baldie.

Hey, by the way, Raksas isn't an Egyptian god, he's derived from the Rakshasa, a malevolent spirit from Hindu lore. The Egyptian god you may be thinking of is Bast, goddess of fertility and cats (you certainly learn some strange things from playing D&D for 12 years).
