I don't get it - why is he a cane? I can take the leap of faith that in the Culdcept world battles take place in the form of cards, there's magical artifacts strewn about the world, but I just can't accept that there is a talking cane who is your friend.

It does make sense in a way. Canes are used by older people, and presumably, the older you get the wiser you become. Goligan is pretty smart compared to your character, who seems to have no clue what's going on. You're the muscle to his brains, kinda like B.A. Baracus to Templeton Peck. I suppose it's not for us to worry about. If Culdra trusted him with the task of finding Soltaria's savior, maybe she knows what she's doing. *shrug*

He's the brains and you're the muscle is a nice way to put it....I mean, at game's end people are begging your character to stay? He doesn't SPEAK during the whole adventure! "Did Timmy fall down the well, Lassie? Did he, girl??" Geez....
