Okay, so most Culdcept players know that holding an item in their hand that the comp can't beat, such as a counter amulet, will deter most AI players from attacking. Now, I was playing a match where I pulled Rust early in a game and decided to hang on to it for a while (too expensive to play early). I noticed that the comp players, Balberit and Ryvern, were discarding their items like crazy. They only kept about 1-2 items instead of the usual 3-4 and it was easy to draw those out. It seemed like it was worth a lot more to hold Rust and scare the comp into throwing out items then it was to hit them up with Rust and have a great advantage for a few turns. Anyone else notice this, or am I crazy?
