Hey Gang,
Is the AI braindead here or a genius, I'm really not sure on this one. In one game I was playing he repeatedly Camouflaged (creature gets land effects regardless if they match) his Horned Chameleons (neutral creatures that can get land effects from any terrain). At first this looked pretty retarded to me, like granting the chameleon the one power IT ALREADY HAD...but now, and this is where I need the professionals here, I'm thinking that may have been a pretty shrewd move giving this neutral guy DOUBLE land effects! So are the chameleons doubly buffed or is this combo just retarded redundancy?

I've seen the AI do this also. I never saw it in combat, but I assume it's a total waste.

The only reason I think it MIGHT not be crap is when these bonuses come into play.
The Camouflage bonus is right there at the start of battle (like when deciding which item to use if any) but the Horned Chameleon's power appear to kick in IN THE MIDST of battle. So there is at least a possibility that these effects are actually seperate and not redundant...but then again it might just be that if the Camoufalge effects are already in place the Horned Chameleon's powers won't do anything further in battle.

I would dare say that the Cameleon does not get a double effect from the redundant abilities.
In Culdcept, redundant abilities don't seem to 'stack'. For example, You don't get first attack on the defensive if both creatures have first attack even if your defensive creature has a second instance of first attacking (for example, giving your first striking Dragonfly (Red Creature ST:30 HP:20 G:20 Item Limit: xScroll, First Attack) a Ring of the Vampire (Item; Accessory G:30 First attack. Bonus attack: combine damage given to opponent to creature's HP.))

Solis- thats not what he's saying- and I actually think he may be on to something. In almost all cases, what you described takes place Solis- the abilities don't stack- HOWEVER, the land bonus provided by the Camoflauge effect is measured on the primary attack screen, the onethat shows everyones STAT numbers and where you can choose an item. The Horned Chameleon's "Mimicry" ability happens AFTER that when all the numbers are being added/subtracted according to the items used or boost effects. So to be honest, Im not sure if this particular boost gets doubled, someone will have to check and see, but I have to say I can really see why the benefit would be added.

I playtested with Horned Chameleon and his Mimicry ability does not stack with the Camoflauge effect. I tried with using an item and not using items, and both ways, his ability just doesn't work if he is Camoflauged. Oh well, nice thought though. I guess the AI is programmed that any Neutral creature will benefit from the Camofauge spell.

I'm glad you tested it out Chingis, I kept meaning to, but I would keep missing the oppertunities while going up against Morroc. Mystery solved!
