I just got finished playing a round of the 'cept today, I have advanced just past the tournament and have the Odin Lance. I currently have just over 1500 cards and my record is 135-35. Yet on a game I played against Selena at here home, I am absolutely amazed at how many 1's I rolled! I know she is weak on yellow and blue, but that stategy had no time to work since I was rolling 1's every 3 turns. My stats in the are say I average 4.6 laps per GAME! She runs circles around me! I was on another post where one dude gives me some good advice about adding Holy Word cards to my deck (thanks a bunch too). But I just can't give up my other cards to do that. I don't mind losing if I have inferior cards, but I don't like losing when the AI predetermines where I will land to my disadvantage. On one instance, I had a Knight and King Tortise on two blue lands, and it cost me by putting me under 50 gold. On the very next turn, Selena rolls a 7 and lands right on my knight, and takes it out since I could not afford to protect it. My next move lands me on her Ninja, and since I could not afford it, I had to give up 36; I only had 35 so I had to sell. About 2 rounds later, she runs around the bottom half to get to my King Tortise and takes it out too! I thought she didn't like water!!. Meanwhile, I'm rolling 1's on the top half, growing a beard while she runs around like kid in a candy shop!! ARRRGGHH! But I can't be mad at the game... it's so addictive!

Ya, sometimes you get beaten through "bad luck" wether it is bad rolls, cards coming out all wrong or whatever. A way to minimize the bad luck on dice rolls is to use a lot of cheap cards and have a lot of magic gaining cards like Drain Magic. I find a Neutral deck can be very strong against Selena at her home. She has no evil blasts so your Decoys are invincible. T-Rex is good also and if you throw out an Astral Queen and a Borgess, your Neutral creatures can be very powerful. Also keeping a Counter Amulet in your hand (with the gold to use it) seems to discourage Selena from attacking at all. You can use those short dice rolls to your advantage by creating clusters of creatures for Selena to cross over. This will up your chances of her landing on your lands. Don't try going for the one killer level five land, instead have a lot of level three's for best results (unless you have Quicksand, which in conjuction with Holy Word 0 is a game winner). Anyway, hope my tips help, good luck!

Did you know that the Time Tramper Medal keeps track of the longest string of ones you roll? In my very first game, I rolled 3 ones in a row and got the medal. Just recently, I looked at the medal again and it said I've rolled 6 ones in a row. I don't remember when that happened.

I can't get this medal for the life of me. I know you can't use Holy Word 1, so it makes the whole thing a total crapshoot.
Friggin' luck.

You know what else, Mujina.
I just played my new neighbor and his wife in Culdcept for the very first time, yesterday. His first four rolls ever were all ones. Shame you can't get a medal when playing other humans.
Stay with it. It'll have to come sometime.
