I'm not sure if this is where this sort of thing should go, but I didn't see a better place for it ;D.
Anyway, when did you get this fanatastic game and where are you in it?
I got it for Valentines day, started it a few weeks later and have been a serious addict ever since. I am currently up to the last stage...I've began it a few times, but for some reason shut if off a few turns in- I think I don't want it to end. LOL. Instead, I just keep playing new and interesting "versus" modes. My favorites seem to be alliances with various people against a team of Luthien and Mullyn or Leo and Zeneth. I have about 740 cards, but have not yet obtained all of the colored creatures, all of the items nor all of the spells. I have 19 medals and don't even want to think about how difficult obtaining some of the other little bastards are gonna be. I've made a few decks- my favorite is still "Rainbow". It uses all colors, Its about 45-20-35 in ratio and still works very well.
So how about you guys?

You know, I started playing Culdcept on my birthday, and here about 1 1/2 months later, I am addicted to it. I just finished the Tournament at the Colleseum, and got the Odin Lance. To date, I have about 12 medals, and over 1000 cards. I got mine because I kept fighting Golligan. It has really helped me accumulate good cards, or multiples of good cards. Where would I be without the Chimera cards? I also completed the color cards, and got those bonuses for it. I got a long way to go, but I'm not rushing...

I bought Culdcept at Gamestop in May after reading a few reviews about its "sleeper" factor (sought it out) - it's the only game I've been playing ever since. I play a lot...for hours.
I've won every Story stage (I think) except the last one when the major opponent is using your book. Have about 10 or 12 medals and a lot of good, strong cards.
However, I am really hating Zeneth at Dunnan right about now. The stage is just too short for my 'style' even though I adjusted a deck specifically for it, and he whips me every time!
Ah, next time!

Ugh- I remember fighting Zeneth for the first few times and loathing him- he is so damnably and insanely agressive and always seems to have just the right items to take every single one of your lands- when he's not evil blasting your creatures of course.
At this point- I've beaten the story mode quite a few times, I have 41 medals, all the colored creature cards and have made new and interesting decks to play with: "Thee Scorned" (a mostly neutral deck), "Storm to Sea" (blue and yellow) and "Evil Nature" (A lot of Green and Evil Cards)

I'm at the sky temple.
I can't beat my (evil) self. I'm just too good of a deck builder.
Any sugestions ?

I changed my deck around to include a lot of blast spells and concenrated on the other guy. I found that the "evil self" doesnt really attack you much and if you get the other guy out of the match you can win easy.

I used my Kelpie & Old Willow deck that were focused on defense. Balberit was the bigger threat (comparatively speaking, since he was pretty much a push over) as the Evil Spirit played my deck randomly, never bothered to put the defense creatures of mine on fire/water lands which Kelpie and Old Willow required. In the end, I had them both trapped between my Kelpie and Old Willow at the castle. It's cheap, but effective

I came in with a fairly general deck, but then went to work occupying a bunch of spaces in the North area, and buying lots of Blue and Yellow symbols (which were the colors of my deck). Then I made a couple passes around the board levelling those spaces up, cashed in my Symbols so I could pay to level the spaces up some more, and waltzed to the Castle with 3x the score of the nearest opponent.
Didn't use any of the special cards that tweak symbols. Including them might help.

I know all these topics are old, and maybe people hardly ever read these posts anymore, but I didn't have this game back when this board was lively, so if I am ever going to post, it may as well be now! As for how I got the game and where I am: I was reading a rant on Penny Arcade and Tycho mentioned that Culdcept would be a great game on a portable like Nintendo DS. His reference of Culdcept led to a link, which I clicked, and I found myself reading a review that said Culdcept was a game like Magic: The Gathering and Monopoly put together... A coworker of mine at the time was obsessed with Magic, so card games like that had been recently pushed back into my interest. I showed the review to my boyfriend, who thought Culdcept sounded interesting too. A while later we were perusing an EB, and it was on the used-games shelf. We picked it up, and both of us have enjoyed playing it ever since. I am currently not very far along in the story-mode... I completed Cratos 2 a while ago, but now I have been obsessed with getting medals instead of advancing the story. I have 24 at the moment, and am going to use the Sudden Death medal to get my 25th and the cool reward cards I've read about. This board has been an excellent source of info in regards to getting medals and other aspects of the game. I wish the game was still more popular so people would continue to post more! -- Cleric

Nice to meet you, cleric. I beat the story mode a while ago and am now trying to get my last, 50th medal. Even though we don't have too many visitors anymore, there are still all of the helpful posts they left behind for you to read.
See you around.
