I cannot believe that nobody has mentioned this card. I think that Feast is an underrated spell and the best G raising spell in the game second only to Selenear which is an E card. Here's a list of all G raising spells and my thoughts on all of them.
Manna is only good for late in the game and in short maps.
Magic Fountain is useless because it requires absolute luck. You could use holy ward spells to help you but they are only as good as the distance of the targeted territory and your current location. For example, a Holy Ward 6 is only good if you happen to land on a territory that is 6 spaces away from the affected creature. Quicksand will just replace the effect and your opponents will have a chance to benefit from this spell. Even if it is 400G, it is not worth the effort.
Drain Magic is only good for subtracting G from the opposing cepter, not to add to your own. The reason for this is the high casting cost of 80G. Let's say that your opponent has 500G and you use Drain Magic. You drain 150G from him, but your "profit" is only 70G (150-80).
Echo is only good if your opponent has an insane amount of G and you have a small amount.
Fairy Light is a good G raising spell but with certain weaknesses. (1) It's most effective when you immediately cast it after you reached the castle. (2) It can easily be removed by holy wards and other cepter targeted spells. (3) It is only useful in long maps.
Grace is also completely worthless because gaining 15% of total magical powers that the target Cepter has in symbols is not a huge percentage, useless in a templeless map, and the fact is most people do not even buy symbols.
Mistletoe is only good with iron idol in play and holy ward 6 spells, and multiplayer situations. But the fact that it only lasts two rounds is not worth putting in a deck.
Soul Hunt can easily be replaced and must be destroyed by spell or territory ability. It is best to use on a 30mhp creature since evil blast can kill it with one shot but the opponents might be reluctant to kill it in the first place.
Soul Steal is not that great because it is for creatures that have been destroyed in combat not by bolts and evil blasts. The simple fact is not many times are creatures are invaded and if they are both creatures survive because of everyone's excessive use of shields and gaseous forms.
Squeeze is not recommended to use on yourself. You have to discard one of your card for 150G which is actually 100G including the casting cost. You might as well use it on the other cepter because you could look at his hand and destroy one card.
IMHO I think that G management is the most important thing in Culdcept even though most people don't keep an eye out for their G all the time. There are also creatures and items that raises G, but creatures can easily be manipulated and no one uses items to raise G. Feast is one of the fastest ways to gather G. If you have 10 creatures then you get 500G. You could also increase the number of creatures you have by playing goblin's lair. By doing this you could summon 2 creatures in 1 turn. Also have gooba queen to summon creatures in vacant lands. SO WHAT if all other cepters earn G. If you earn G fast, then you could level up your Kelpies and Old Willows quickly which will compensate for the side effect. Plus, it only cost 20G to cast.
On a side note, I think that creature/land matching and land chaining (which contributes to raising total G) are the next important things in Culdcept. That is why I think that the spell card "Influence" is one of my favorites and an underrated card especially in a mono color deck. Wow, that was a lot. Tell me what you guys think.
