I usually play T'ao T'ieh (R) Gargoyle (S) and Gigantherium (R) in my hand. T'ao T'ieh 'grows up' to 80/80 with defeats (along with my Chimera except he gains both ST and MHP). I usually try to keep a First Attack/Extra Strength 20 spell on him. Like Chimera, which grows strength only with castle pass, T'ao T'ieh needs to be played early to be useful so he can defend successfully.
Gargoyle (S) has First Attack, no land limit and 50/50.
Gigantherium (R) has no land limit and 50/50 but is only good without a Land Protect or Untargetable on because he is -20 MHP with an icon of any kind, including enemy spells.
With Vampire, Dark Elf, Healer, Angostura, and Dark Master, it's a pretty good green deck.
I don't play an all-element deck, though because it costs less magic to exchange creatures than transform land.

Only thing you need to watch really closely for with those cards, especially Gargoyle and Chimera, is reflective items and Decoys.
I've found more than once that my powered up chimera gets stomped on by a decoy, because I have no HP base-boosting items, and a neutralize all shield doesn't seem to work against your own attack when it's reflected (been burned by that more than I'd like).
Otherwise, though, I tend to love using these cards in my decks as well. It's nice that the chimera keeps its ST bonuses when moving lands, as well, as you can place him.. power him up with a few laps, and then bounce him across lands to wipe out the enemy's real estate.

True. The Gaseous Form usually backfires on me somehow, so I use only the Diamond Shield and the Spiked Shield in my deck. The Shadow armour and the the Hideous Mask (what's it called?) are too unreliable for defense, so I also use the Plate Armour and the Catapult. As long as you use armour for a Decoy, it works out. Mad Hares are tougher to defend against, IMO. And ALWAYS know what's in the opponents' hands...critical. Thanks! T'ao t'ieh is pretty easy to level up and tough to beat if you keep the right items and spells in hand.

Agreed, as long as you keep enough armors in your deck, you're laughing. Until the decoy hits you when he has an ST bonus of 10, and then uses a Nuclear fusion, and hits you for 60 before you even get your own attack thrown back at you. I also find it handy to have the odd set ST = 0 HP booster, so that I can't do any damage to myself from reflections, while I'm beefing up my defensive HP.
You almost get into the habit of watching closely every time the computer adds a card to their hand, hey?

True again, lest we overlook the power of the Black Orb that only costs about a dime to neutralize both reflection and elemental neutralization Yours is also a good solution - the Petrify Stone is good for ST=0. We just don't want to be caught without 'protection' of some sort. Regardless, I do love those heavy-hitter, First Attack critters, even on the Promsdale stage, where Ryvern repeatedly uses Decoy in attack mode. Yes, I always try to watch the deals, so I can anticipate what item or spell the opponent(s) will use next, and then use my Find card relentlessly (as necessary) at 40g a pop to find the appropriate counter. I have one of those cards in my deck, and it is worth it. I had 3 Chimeras, but I had to temporarily drop them when I was fighting Selena. Her Cat Siths prompted me to use Ice Storm, but to use it I had to drop my reds, because Ice Storm does 20 damage to all reds. I intend to get them back though.
