I'm getting close to having all the cards, and collecting all the medals, and at this point I think I've used Valkyria more than any other card (except maybe Manna, which is also awesome).
She doesn't cost all that much (70), and though her stats are only 30/30, she has two of the best creature abilities - Support and First Attack. That means she's great both offensively and defensively. She has no item restrictions so she's also very versitile. Have a weapon or armor card? Have another creature? Anything goes for increasing her battle capabilities.
As if all that weren't cool enough, she actually gets stronger every time she makes a kill. If you're playing against somebody with a penchant for invading like Zagol or Leo, she can build up VERY fast, quickly transforming into a formidable killing machine. Like all First Attacking creatures, Valkyrias are even better if you put them next to each other, since the support bonus raises the attack of both creatures.
The downsides: the land requirement is only one red, but that still means you can't just throw them in any ol' book. Still, with a bit of planning they're easy to make room for. Another problem is other First Attacking creatures if you're on the defense; again not that big an issue since she has Support and whatnot. Her worst enemies are probably Evil Blast (just about everybody's worst enemy, really) and reflect abilities. A Decoy can really spoil your plans since Valkyrias typically have a way higher ST than HP rating. They're good at killing, and just as good at killing themselves.
