Kelpie

As of right now the Kelpie is my favorite card. It is just pure evil!
Kelpie: 30 ST / 30 HP
His special ability is that if he's on a blue land, he will cause all cepters (except the owner) to stop on his land.
While this may not sound like a big deal, if you place a Kelpie on a level 5 land and that's where the fun begins. Every single trip around the board, every cepter will either have to find a way to take out the 30 ST / 80 HP creature, or pay a toll of at least 900G (before chain, I've gotten it to a 2252G toll!). Multiple cepters on the board means more G for me! And when they can't pay the toll, the start sacrificing their lands to pay, which gives me an even greater advantage...
Even on a level 3 or 4 land, the toll can be pretty taxing to pay every pass!
I just acquired my 2nd copy of this creature last night, imagine 2 of these on the board!

The only issue with Kelpie (and it's Red counterpart, old willow) is that if you play people, they are going to zap it so hard, as soon as they can -you'll have to protect it somehow to get anything from it.
The computer gets wrecked by confinement abilities, though. Just make sure you put it in a place where they can't opt out of passing -the computer will avoid lapping just to avoid your Kelpie.

Yup, keeping the kelpie alive is my main objective after it comes out. Haven't played anyone else yet, but will be very soon. I'd imagine that not many players (actual people or computer alike) can take toll hits like that and still keep playing at an effective level.
I usually place the kelpie very close to the castle. That way my opponent will hit it either right before collecting his castle bonus when he's most broke, or right after collecting the castle bonus, leaving him broke for the rest of his turn. I've managed to get 2 kelpies on the board, one on either side of the castle. Now that's nasty.
I've seen the computer avoid my kelpie areas like the plague, just wandering around with no G to spend, rather than get sucked in by the kelpies...

Hi Hi... I m new here... I come from Malaysia... I like to use Kelpie too... She is really good when u r facing Goligan in the Dunnan practice map... When I used her to duel wif Goligan, he nvr try to invade my land... I used her to earn my Wing of Swiftness in Dunnan... Bcoz Goligan paid me twice at 2252... I used the speed up card (which let Goligan move 6-8 on dice) twice on him... Quite cruel, is it??? Hhaha...

Gotta say I like the kelpie as well but she is pretty weak as well, along with old willow. So on that note I keep 3 Nuclear Fusions in my Books with 2 ninjas, for people who like to play old willows, kelpies and quicksands. Not many Critters can take 75 penatraion.

My Kelpie is never challenged once I place it on a Level 5 Water, and it can take anything with a Rainbow Piece ;D It's funny to watch when combined with Holy Word 0.
I never play Kelpie or Old Willow until the very end - can easily turn the tide real quick near the castle, as necessary. Until that point, these two cards are discards. With Find, one or both reappear when I need them most.
Ninjas require too much extra equipment and they're weak on defense (neutrals can't hold territory once captured and usually an AI lands on it before there's a chance to exchange) so I never play them much. Easy to defeat one.

I like to use backwards to make cepters go back onto kelpie/old willow right after they pass it.

"Backwards," eh? That's even funnier than using Holy Word 0 on 'em - I'll have to try that. LOL Thanks!.

LoL Willow and Kelpie are cool. When playing against a human use Land Protection on them therefore they are untargetable by spells. Also a note of items that are perfect... Use the shield of its color on defense to get nuetralize

Great ideas here! If you really wanna torture a ceptor, play Zagol at his hideout. I used a red deck with Old Willows, and near the end when I knew I could win once I got to the castle, I stayed on the bottom half of the board, going in circles. I placed Old Willows out, changed the land to red and then leveled up. Zagol kept running into my Willows and I just kept making money. After a period of time I had the whole bottom half of the board of Old Willows at level 5. Since Zagol has no spells, he is out of luck. Yeah I know it is overkill, but I owe Zagol...he hurt my feelings once......

Yeah, I use to of each, but Its probably overkill. Gaseous form does the trick. You're immune to everything but scrolls, and if you thing your opponent will use one, you use rainbow piece instead. But they really only work insanely well on AI, against a human, they are significantly less effective. (Mullyn is so damn pacifistic that if she lands on kelpie or old willow and your holding a gaseous form, she will simply pay the toll rather that invading and eating the toll a couple of times to deplete your items, then strike decisively, which is what a human player will do. There are only two story characters that will invade a level five kelpie, and they are Zagol and Zenith.)
