Hello, I've been a member for a couple of weeks now, but I've finally decided to post. I've had Culdcept on the PS2 for about 18 months or so and I absolutely love it. I have a couple of friends, whom I met through working at the local EB Games, who love it as I do. We have had many happy hours in heated 3-player battles. For the past 6 months, however, the game did not get much playing time for one reason or another. Recently though, we have gotten back into it, and I finally decided to try and complete all medals. So far, I have 42, so I am getting close, thanks to help from this board. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am also greatly looking foward to Saga, as I have been a 360 owner from day one (to me worth every penny). I hope to talk to you guys later on through posts here and of course through Xbox Live. Take it easy.

So what are the eight medals that you have yet to get? Are there any medals that keep giving you a hard time?

Actually as of now, I have 44 and the 6 I have left to get are the "Exiler of Existence" ( I currently only have two of the monster in question now so that makes it a pain), The "King of the Wasteland" (haven't actually attemped yet), The "Victor among Victors", the "Denizen of the Sanctuary" (having a little trouble with this one b/c of lack of auroras and coin of piety's), and the last two are the "scholar of sorcery", and "scholar of monsters", both of which are 1 or 2 cards away from completion. I think I am capable of getting them all after I collect a few more cards, but any new advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Sounds to me like all you have to do is keep on playing.
To get more cards try playing in team games. Ally yourself with a computer character and play against two other computer characters. Also, be aware of the reward factor of the map you play on. Only Heavenly Altar has an award factor of 16. I think Tournament 3 is the next highest at 14.
You can get Exiler of Existence with only two Death Gazes. I think I did it with just two. Just add a bunch of cards to your deck that will let you rip through your deck quickly.
There's an idol that lets you draw two cards at a time. The Find card will also allow you to draw an extra card.
I played an all-forest deck against Zagol in Dombwood. I turned the entire board green and leveled up almost every single square to level five. I hung out in the small area at the bottom going in circles.
Then I used Revelation to allow me to replace monsters with Death Gazes. In my little circle I had an idol (to draw two cards), a Barometz for cash, and a Gooba Queen so I could fill empty spaces. Fairly Light helps too. You'll never pass the castle, but Shrine effects and Revelation will wipe out Fairly Light.
Zagol could take a level five land with a Cyclops using the strength doubling bracelet, but I could then just kill it with a Banishing Ray and then fill the spot with a Gooba and replace it with a Death Gaze later.
This is also a good time to get some other medals like the one you get for taking a bunch of tolls or continuously defending against invasion.
Other than that, the only thing I can say is keep on playing and get those extra cards!

Thanks for the advice. As of late last night I acquired my last spell and with that, my 45th medal (Yay!). The talisman is pretty cool and I think It will be a new addition to most of my books. Anyways, now that I see how you did the Death Gaze, it does seem pretty easy, kinda like 90% of these medals that seem incredibly tough until you figure out a good strategy. Well, thanks again and hopefully my next post will be in the 50 medals area.
