I found out you can access the chatroom without using the Java applet with any IRC client (mIRC, etc).

Start the program and type/paste:
/server 66.252.12.170:8180
into the command bar. Then
/join #Culdcept

I'm not sure if that server address is something that's going to be permanent, however. Just an alternative if anyone has trouble with/hates running java.
(probably can't make the Friday chat, however.)

It turns out that I won't be there for my own chat. ;D
That doesn't stop anyone else from talking though. Now that there is a direct link to it (rather than a link to a link) it'll make it easier. I'll just pop in when I get home, and see if people are still talking.
