Anyone have any good penetration decks they've put together? I am working on one and will release it shortly. I have dreams of an offensively minded deck where land effects hardly ever impact the results of my battles.

I think making an entire deck based around penetration would be rediculous. I've been more than fine with just 2 Nightmare in my yellow book. I almost never need to use penetration, but then again, relying on it may cut down on the offensive items you use. I myself have not used a penetration book, but I have used Nightmare and Drool.

I will agree that the premise is probably not the MOST effective manner to construct a deck in the world, but I thought it might make for an interesting project since most opposing decks seem to architect their penetrating defense around preventing scroll attacks. Creating a strong penetrating offensive attack is normally amplified by use of creatures with critical scroll attack ability. In that approach, one is more apt to incorporate into their deck scroll attacks as opposed to penetration rings.
The deck I am attempting to construct is not reliant on scroll attacks to destroy high leveled characters, but rather offensive boost cards, inherent penetration, and penetration rings for creatures used as support creatures for Trojan Horse. (Trojan Horse has penetration and support ability) Gremlin + ring + offensive boost is also very effective. Particulary since Gremlin cannot use scroll attacks. Just a different method to accomplish the same results, but catch my opponent off guard because they don't usually plan for this type of attack.
At this point I am trying to figure out what first attack creatures which would double as support cards for Trojan Horse to include in my deck.
I am close to finishing the deck. I'd love to get your feedback when I'm done. Then we can actually see how practical it is.

Just use the Executor. Throw in like 2 or 3 of them, even if their not first striking. I used mine with Bandits and Valkeria, and I never use them on the board. The only real problem with using them, is that they could just be sitting in your hand if you don't have a Horse. Oh well. If you really want FS-ers, I thin Elf is the highest attack. Not sure, but I know my FS book doesn't have a ton of power without masamunes.

A penetration deck is not ridiculous- I think you're missing the point here Ace- after playing and playing and playing, it's sometimes fun to make decks based on a theme, not to make the next KILLER DECK, but something fun and new and see how it works, like a support deck, or a scroll attackers deck- I once even built a gamble deck with Baldanders, Amber Mosquito's and Eggs.
That being said, I did try a Penetration deck once, it was pretty fun, but a little on the tough side to build up since many creatures that have Penetration, only have it against another color, so you're kind of playing mix and match. Another issue is that you don't realize just how tough the Bunyip is if you only have Penetration creatures...thank god for senility.

I have a couple theme decks that aren't that great. I have a Powder Eater book and a Permission book. I do think a penetration book would be pretty fun to play with.
