In my own humble attempt to contribute to the community here is my most recent deck design.
-Neutral Creatures- Ivory Idol x3 -Red Creatures- Gas Cloud x2 Minotaur x2 Piro Drake x1 -Blue Creatures- Amazon x2 Wall of Ice x2 Giant Amoeba x1 -Green Creatures- Dragon Zombie x2 Dryad x2 Huge Spider x1 -Yellow Creatures- Griffon x2 Witch x2 Master Monk x1 -Spells- Sleep x2 Backward x2 Bind x2 Chaos Panic x1 Fairy Light x1 Foresight x1 Land Protection x1 Pain x2 Peace x2 Reincarnation x1 Slow x2 Suppression x1 Thorn Fetter x1 Torture x2 Waste x4 -Items- 2x Gaseous Form
Thats the basis of the deck right now, general idea is to get idol down as soon as possible, try and keep their money low and also slow down their lapping as much as possible. Its probably worth noting that almost all the cards in the deck are N so you won't be that affected by the idol. I'm a little dissapointed with the deck as is, I'm currently testing a few different versions but the idea is there for anyone who wants to mess around with it.

So...basically what you're attempting to do is hinder your opponent's development by denying him resources while you chain up and win. That's a sound enough plan.
The first thing you might want to do is keep it one color -two at the absolute max(not counting neutrals). This allows you to retain focus -one big chain is a lot more valuable to land-wise than several smaller chains.
If you go with Water, you'll get a big Wall and possibly Kelpie to collect tolls (this is even more effective if you can drain your opponent of mana, forcing him to give up territories). You also get Amazon for additional money taking. You don't want to depend on the Ivory Idols, though, as it's not so hard to invade/blast them out. You want your strategy to have as much redundancy as possible to improve consistency, and therefore (hopefully) increase your win %.
I'm assuming you have every card here, just to make it easier than attempting to guess what you have.
Ivory Idol x 3 Amazon x 3 Bandit x 3 Pirate x 3 Wall of Ice x 3 Fungonoid x 3 Lizardman x 2 Storm Giant x 2 Kelpie x 1
Lake Leap x 2 Influence x 2 Bind x 3 Pain x 3 Waste x 3 Silence x 3 Mine x 3 Drain Magic x 2
Water Shield x 4
There are definitely other ways to do this, but this is off the top of the head...

Not a bad deck, but I probably wouldn't include drain magic or infulence as you'll be paying 120 gold for each, which in drain magic's case would probably make it useless the whole game except possibly after they lap. I'm also not sure why you put in 3x mine when you only have 1x keply, the combo only works the turn after you put kelpy down after that its not very likely you'll land on him again.
