Just ordered these two games from our friend at wolfgames.com. Cardinal Arc is a JPS2 card game that was described at amazon.co.jp as very Culdcept like. Texthoth Ludo was described by Matt as a very difficult to learn card/board game for the Japanese Sega Saturn. I've found a site for TL in Japanese and have been translating bits and pieces of it. So far it doesn't sound too complicated. The games should be here early next week. If any of you have heard of them, or better yet have played them, then let me know.
Cheers all.

Cardinal Arc - JPS2
Played one game against the computer, ended in a draw.
206 cards divided between creatures, spells, base cards.
The board is a free grid rather than a single-wide path. As you pass over squares they turn to your color and I believe contribute to your 'mana' (though I don't think it's called mana, haven't done any translating yet).
You can summon creatures which move as you do, coloring squares to your color as they pass over them.
Player can have up to 30 cards in a deck though there are placeholders for 40 so I expect that will expand.
Spells can be used outside of battle (ala Culdcept).
So far it is very much like Culdcept without the terrains and without the rolling of dice but with a freer movement system. I enjoyed the one game I played so far and will eagerly embark on a second round shortly. Ah, the one game I played lasted all of 10 minutes or so.

Sounds really cool, do you have to get your ps2 modded to play this and how much did they cost?

Got Cardinal Arc for 20 bucks from matt as he was having a 40% off sale. Yes you need a Japanese PS2 or a modded PS2 capable of playing imports. I have the former.
