Promsdale, is a spot where many of the young cepters of our time tend to get stopped short on their road to Victory Lane at the final destination, the Heavenly Altar. The reason being is because of your enemies (and even your ally, on some occasions).
If your this far, im sure u handed Ryvern's own a$$ to him about 3 or 4 times already (even more if you practiced on him, to get extra cards for battle). Hes back again, but this time, he features an entirely new enemy for an ally - Balberit. Its a good idea that you give him a little more extra attention than Ryvern, because its his deck that will torment you and Selena, who sometimes doesn't need help in that department as she makes the most pointless moves known to man....
Ryvern - Im sure you already know the drill with handling him already, so just stick to what you used to dismantle him the previous times. Although he may throw in a different card or two after each loss, the one to watch out for is HAUNT. Fear this card, detest it, bounce off the walls screaming countless profanities at it, because 100% of the time this card is going to be meant for YOUR cepter. Haunt is a seriously disruptive status to have on a cepter, and with cards you plan to save in your hand, it gets all the more annoying. Just remember ALOT can happen within 2 AI-controlled turns.....just rough it out, and you'll be fine.
Balberit - Like i said before, its his deck that is the more dangerous of the two. He is capable of exterminating your creatures without even touching them. Its vital that you recognize his hand after EVERY turn: (which cards hes tossing, which ones hes picking up, and which items he has in his hands). Evil Blast, The Grail, and Temperance are all cards he'll be throwing at the poor sap who managed to piss him off by gaining a lead on him. Evil Blast is a spell of Utmost danger; As we all know it deals 30HP worth of damage to creatures' base health, which usually means death. Having Land-Protection, or Growth Body (to increase Max HP), or untargettable creatures will avoid this horrid spell. The Grail is a card you'll grow to hate, because it basically an expensive Gaseous Form - It'll negate ALL damage that isnt scroll-induced. Just stick some scrolls in your deck so u can dispatch his high-leveled lands. (trust me, he WILL have high leveled lands, and the Grail is one of his best means of making a stand with them). And Temperance, well...just reduces a land-owned creature's Max HP to 30, which is bad as it will make them vulnerable to go down in one shot from a followed up Evil Blast. One Blessing is that Balberit's strategy requires a huge amount of G to pull off, and he is hasty, so usually if you keep him in debt, he wont become as dangerous as you believe him to be.
A sum-up of whats useful:
Rust (very godly against item/spell crammed hands) Ruin (a great substitute, if u lack rust) Scrolls Land Protection Cards/ Untargettable monsters Selena doing her part!!
I personally dont like Selena's Battle tactics. She is not agressive, and she will sometimes just give up lands that could've been levelled to perfection. If you get lucky, she will try to ease the battle for you by Casting "Fairy Light" on you, or taking down some monsters on the field. Just treat her more like tag-along buddy than an ally. If she somehow manages to get a leveled-up land, be sure to cast some kind of protection spell on it, so it wont be exposed to Evil Blast. Hopefully she'll defend it in combat, should the situation present itself.
Good Luck!

I used a lot of manna kill cards and my goal was to stay rich. I packed some pain, drain, torture (YOUR FRIEND!), and manna, echo, and baromets. Throw in some swank armors for your cards and one or two attack cards like knight migoal leoknight and centaur and a lance of odin and such and you can take things out/keep things alive once placed.
But yes...land protect is needed here. Balberit will kill you dead with temperance+evil blast.
