Well, here's what Wikipedia has to say on the topic of Ba'Al... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baal#Deities_called_Ba.E2.80.98al_and_Ba.E2.80.98alatBasically, it's an ancient deity/demon whose title is an old term for 'Lord'? *shrug* It seems like the kind of info that would make more sense after a lot of study into the history of the cultures surrounding the deity. As for why Culdcept uses an = sign in his name as opposed to a - or ' ... probably just another translation error?
