question -
EXILE: why is it that certain cards can't be targeted?
example - i'm in a game against zeneth right now and i have Paralysis on a Golem and a Cerberus, both his. the golem is on a lvl1 blue land and the cerberus is on a lvl 4 green land. the golem was paralyzed by my giant spider, and the cerberus was paralyzed by my Hyde's territory ability. for some reason, ONLY the golem can be targeted by exile. the cerberus CANNOT. why is this??
i've noticed wierd targeting limitations like this before, but always thought it was due to an Invisibility or Barrier spell or soemthing like that, but this current example makes no sense.

This one drives me crazy too. I can't figure it out.
Some possibilities I've considered: it doesn't work on opponent's enchantments, or territory ability enchantments, or mass enchantments, or positive enchantments, or negative enchantments.
Has anyone tested any of these? I haven't been able to detect a pattern.

The only possibility I can think of based on my example is this: Golem was on a mismatched land and cerberus was not. Somehow I don't think is the rule though... if anyone can confirm or refute this, please help.

I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure I've Exiled creatures on matching lands.
I'm going to have to take a stab at this again.

I played two games against Zagol last night, using creature enchantment spells, Domovoi, Giant Rattler, Hyde, Huge Spider...every creature that enchants that I could think of, by territory abilities or bonus attack. I was able to Exile everything on the board whether it matched or not, neutral and colorful, mine and his.
Next I guess it's worth trying some mass enchantments and playing someone who uses enchantment spells of their own. Luthien, maybe.

This time I played a long game against Luthien. Enchantments abounded.
There were three enchanted creatures that I couldn't Exile, two Ghouls and a Nightmare. All Luthien's. Two were Paralyzed, one was Fogged. All three had been enchanted and Exilable earlier in the game.
I don't know what changed. Any ideas? Suggestions?

zeds -- do you remember if they were on matching lands? what levels were the lands on? in my first example, the exile-able creature was on lvl1 land and the one i couldn't target was on lvl4... maybe exile only targets lvl1?

One of the ghouls was mismatched and the other two creatures matched. Both the matched ghoul and nightmare lands were level 3 or 4 (not sure).
There were other creatures on leveled up lands that I was able to exile, but again I'm not sure what levels. Maybe creatures on level 4 and 5 lands can't be exiled? It's worth a look.

exile only works on lvl1 territory creatures.

Thats incorrect- I distinctly remember Mullyn exiling my level 4 Gargoyle who had Vitality casted on him.

I have definitely Exiled at least a couple creatures on leveled up lands. I'm afraid I'm going to have to temporarily close the doors to the Culdcept Detective Agency, as I seem to have worn my disc out. No more Culdcept for me until I can snag a new copy.

Exile cannot target any creature with a funky casting cost (ie, a discard or color requirement). It can only target creatures whose cost is a simple number.

I'm sure it's just one of the many unresolved bugs in the game. It sucks, I know. But I'm sure it's a glitch and not some undocumented rule.

question - ONLY the golem can be targeted by exile. the cerberus CANNOT. why is this?? It is not a bug. Creature returned to a hand by "EXILE" fulfills the following conditions. 1. A arranged creature is cursed. 2. The creature arranged does not need territory. 3. The creature arranged does not need a card of sacrifice. "Cerberus" needs one green land. That is, conditions 2 are not satisfied. The example for which conditions 3 are not satisfied is a "Decoy".
