Fricking computer double posting and won't let me take it back!!!
So in this thread...I will ask...Does anyone really play with the Carbuncle/Dragonfly combo? In all my time playing Culdcept, I still haven't gotten around to doing it.
Word.

Actually I have. I use it in my green deck quite regularly. It's first attack, scroll reflect is a MF let me tell you.....on defense. The trick is getting it to that state. Transforming offensively, my experience has been that it works best when attacking against Idols or other creatures with low hit points/power. The 40/40 Carbonfly sports, just doesn't pack enough punch to scare/destroy anyone. But...on defense...now you got something. Having a dragonfly card now becomes like having the card that brings you back as a zombie. (Can't remember the name, my transformation to age 30 must finally be getting to me) Of course this can be countered, like all strategies but most folks don't see it coming. Once Carbonfly is placed, you are most likely looking at a creature that will have to be killed twice to be removed. This is because when Carbonfly is killed he reverts back to his Carbuncle form. So what does this all mean? You can basically set up a CarbonFly, boost him up with Mutation, and have a high hit point, first attack creature that reflects scroll attacks, receives land bonuses and needs to be killed twice to be destroyed. Like I said, that's a bad MF. Interesting things about Carbonfly:

i made a "carbunflyWTF" deck that has 4 carbunkles and 4 dragonflies. in order to make the deck actually usable, i turned it into a pretty darn good "unf*kable" deck, meaning some dhomovika for land protection, and archbishop to take away any bad statuses, and other creatures that are generally hard to eff with. it's actually one of my better decks in terms of usefulness of every card and a good balance of creatures/items/spells.
but yeah, carbunfly is a great defensive creature, especially since the comp AI (or other people) don't know that the carbunkle turns first strike when you support with dragonfly.
