I was reading the Game Overview on one of the FAQ's over at gamefaqs.com and under territories, it says nothing about leveling up a land contributing to an increase in your total G.
My question: Leveling up your lands DOES increase your total G, right?
Do the existance of chains increase your total G as well or do chains only increase the toll value?
Does anything that raises your 'useable' G (lap bonuses, Manna spell, tolls) also raise your total G?
(Apparently, I never pay attention during the game...)

My question: Leveling up your lands DOES increase your total G, right?
Yes, leveling up your land DOES increase its value and thus your total G, but only if you have a chain. Without a chain, the increase in value is only equal to the cost of raising it (so you don't increase your total, just convert useable G, to non-useable G). But if you raise a territory that isn't chained, and later chain it, then you will get a significant boost to your total G at that point. So, if you have a chain, leveling up a land will boost your total G (and the larger the chain, the bigger the increase per level increase).
Do the existance of chains increase your total G as well or do chains only increase the toll value?
Chains are the best way to increase your total G. Each additional land chain increases the value of each land in the chain, so the value goes up and up, the more you chain. After 5, it stops going up, but each land chain you add is still pretty high in value at that point.
Does anything that raises your 'useable' G (lap bonuses, Manna spell, tolls) also raise your total G?
Yes. Your useable G is always added into your total G. Your total G is the value of your useable G plus the total value of all of your land.
