According to the description on the card, the Bard is supposed to warp to a vacant land if unable to destroy the enemy creature. Does anyone know if there is an unwritten % chance of this ability not happening?
The reason I ask is I was fighting against Ryvern and he had a Bard on a level 3 territory. Naturally I assumed that I could gain that territory by invading and making sure that my creature survived. I invaded with Nike, used a Gaseous Form, but at the end of the battle nothing happened. The Bard didn't teleport and I got stuck paying the toll.
In a similar situation, I invaded a bard on a level one land, he attacked my creature I attacked him (both did minor damage to each other), neither the Bard nor my creature were destroyed, yet the Bard didn't go anywhere.
Bard (S) (RC) ST:30 HP:30 G:30 Bonus Attack: Warps to a vacant land when the opponent could not be destroyed.

Hmm..every time I've fought with Ryvern the Bard's success rate seemed to be 100%. I can offer two possible answers. 1- I strongly believe damage has to be dealt from the Bard for the warp to be activated, so using a Gaseous Form on a Nike would not trigger the action, though that doesnt explain why it also didn't happen when you and he both traded blows on a level 1. Another possible solution may be was there a Basalt Idol in play? Since that idol neutralizes all effects that happen after the battle's conclusion.

I can say with 100% certainty that there was no Basalt Idol in play either time.

Dayumn thats odd- like I said, the first time it was probably that the bard could not to damage- but I have no other ideas as to the second time, and Ive testing it out and the ability activates every single time- maybe I'm freakishly lucky. lol

So what you're saying is that the Bard has to deal damage to your character in order for his effect to work.
I am not sure, but it might have been possible that the bard only did 'neighboring creature' damage and no direct damage himself. <<Scratches Head>> I wish I could remember exactly what happened during that second scenario.

The bard's ability only seems to work if he is used to invade never on defense. That is my take on seeing how it works in the game

No- Ive seen it work 100% of the time with the Bard as a defensive creature.
