I just got this game last week and very addicted to it. However, I just got past the temple and couldn't proceed to the next level so went back to the temple to fight that lady Lucien or whatever her name is. Now she has a ton of these Fate cards and they are kicking my ass.
I can not damage them, everything I do in damage she gets Mana for, and then my resulting damage is always reduced to 0 after she gets the mana. How can I defeat these? I've even tried cards that do critical hits to Blue creatures and NOTHING works. Very annoying.
Thanks for any tips you can provide.

Lord Blade may want to field this. Sounds like you have a different version from everyone else.
In all seriousness though, I can't figure out what's going on in your situation. No creature has an ability that matches what you described, definitely not Fate. All I can think of is maybe Luthien cast Simulacrum on Fate - which converts damage done to the creature into a gold COST to its controller. If that's the case, simply dispel or replace Simulacrum with a different effect or attack with a scroll..

Yes, thank you, that was exactly it! I had never seen that Simulacrum card before, and that is exactly what she has continually doing to me.
I didn't know you can replace effects. So for example if I cast poison / paralyze on a creature with simulacrum on it, it will replace it? (Are all effects like this, non-cumulative?)
This game is very addictive. I just get creamed each time I try to do the snow map with the Rappit on it. The computer will buy a level 3 or 4 land right away and for some reason I *always* land on it. Very frustrating as once begin to lose it seems near impossible to make a come back.

Any given creature can only have one enchantment, so yeah, if you can cast another one then it'll replace Simulacrum (or anything.. well, except land protect).

It sometimes seems nearly impossible to come back, but I've had a few matches where my opponent has had enough to win, but I took my opponents level 3+ land the turn before they hit the castle. I've even come back to win a few of them.

I learned that fact when Selena started casting Fog on her own territories to remove my bind/weakness effects.

ExMortis said in the second post:

Actually there is a creature that has the Simulacrum effect on itself continually. It's the water creature called Charon, after the mythical ferryman over the river Styx. I think Aldha is the only CPU opponent who uses it but Mullyn might as well. You can kill Charon (or a creature with Simulacrum) in battle by using scrolls which ignore various defensive measures. Magic Bolt and Evil Blast can do the trick, as well.

Balberit uses him, Mullyn does not.
