I have to agree with Darklao here---I was actually a little disappointed with Disgaea. For a long while I needed a good RPG since the "eh..sorta" enjoyment of Arc the Lad. I bought Disgaea because I loved FF Tactics, DW Tactics and Dark Wizard--I was honestly disappointed- the game play was decent, I liked the chatacter customization, the item levels were brutally choresome and the music was subpar---it wasn't all bad though--some aspects of the game were pretty fun- the senate was an interesting addition as well as the humor...I dont know it just wasnt for me...but if you enjoy it, great!

I'll admit its not for everyone but more and more peeps are finding out about it. Btw, theres a semi sequel coming out in a month. La Pucelle: Tactics is the name and theres a trailer of it on the new OPM demo disc. Looks like more of the same great gameplay!

I picked up Disagea once it came out as well, I was very excited as I like games of that nature FF Tactics being my favorite. After having it for a few weeks I couldn't get into it, not sure why part of it was the story and IMO its just missing a certain flavor or flair. So alas I returned it.
Hopefully another game in that genre comes out soon as I'll be willing to give it a shot.

I just beat the story mode and i started the second cycle. I am going to get my chars to 100+ in this cycle and lvl up some new characters. Btw I got one of the "good" endings and it was awesome!

I would be interested to know how many hours you spent playing before you beat Story Mode. Did you spend a lot of time in the Item World, or did you just focus on playing through the story?
I think I've gone a little over 30 hours now, and most of my sevan main characters are in their teens in Level (not including the Prinneys, which I haven't been focusing on except for defense). I find that I've been spending a lot of time entering Item World, since the maps are so varied and the rewards (in terms of Items obtained via the Bonus Gauge) are so great.

I've played around 95 hours so far and my chars lvl were ranged from 75-49, except the prinnys cause they are worthless imo. I spent my fair share in the item world but didnt really want to beat the game with 100+ chars. However by me not doing this made a few of the end maps a royal pain but I am proud to say that with my "uber" priest I was able to beat the odds again and again. I think having a healer who can cast "star" magic is the key to mastering this game.

Thanks for the tip! One of the next things that I want to do is transmigrate my Cleric to the Priest class, so I'm glad to hear that's a good direction in which to go.
But, now that I've also secured Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Champions of Norrath, I have to make some critical play-time decisions... ;D

I can't believe I forgot to tell you this earlier Garek: DON'T GET RID OF YOUR PRINNIES!! I only say this for one reason: They can be changed into humanoid characters. Just use them enough so they can transmigrate into at least an "average" character. I know this is going to sound really bad but I've been playing for about 200 hours and my characters are only around level 50. Although that's because I haven't completed Episode 1 yet .

DON'T GET RID OF YOUR PRINNIES!! Thanks for yet another tip! I haven't gotten rid of them, I just haven't involved them in battles as much as I have involved my other characters. However, since I hadn't heard before what you mention above, perhaps I need to rethink that a bit...

La Pucelle is actually a prequel to Disgaea, and I forget who but I believe Priere is in that game as well. Disgaea is truly a cult game for dedicated numbercrunchers who have nothing better to do with there lives than hit CoO3 962 times. ;D I really should get a life.

Dynasty Warriors Tactics- they also just released a sequel- They are PS2 games based upon the Romance of The Three Kingdoms story and with a lot more tactical play than the normal Dynasty Warriors to which I am a huge fan :-D. The DW Tactics play more like chess games- but they are a hell of a lot of fun and give you a lot of versatility on how you want to shape the story.
